I've been eating salad for lunch at work every day. I make my own, and have tried quite a few things. So I want to compare opinions and maybe get suggestions.
I like spinach and arugula best. I think raddichio tastes horrible and bitter, and kale tastes like dirt. I hate iceberg lettuce, and I can bear (but avoid) other varieties of lettuce.
I like putting baby tomatoes, diced onion, feta, cucumber, and homemade tzatziki (which I make with non fat Greek yoghurt) on my salads. I also like bell peppers and carrot.
Green beans, edamame, beets, sweet peas, and mushrooms are disgusting imo. I also refuse to put fruit on my salads.
For protein I like to use chicken breast or tuna best. But I use egg sometimes too.
As I said, I make my own dressing cuz it tastes better and is healthier.
