No, it's not near that time of the month, for a couple weeks I've been getting random cramps on the bottom of my back on right side of my back. It's just random and it stays for about an hour before it goes away. I wish it would go away :(

I had a sore knee and a limp. Eventually I figured out it was the way I sit. Could it be like that for you? I was sitting with one foot under me and leaning on the arm of the chair. For hours, reading, tv, computer, etc. Do you sit comfy but bunched up or leaning or something?

You might be deficient in potassium, I take 1 tablet a day for a week and it seems to get the foot cramps under control

It could be potassium, or it could be that you need to drink more water. Being a bit dehydrated can cause that also.

That's right, I forgot about potassium. My aunt gets night cramps, has a banana, goes back to bed and it's better. Well, the cramp is better. I never asked about her digestion. :)

Sweet potato is a good source of potassium about x4 that of a banana. Coconut is another source. Potassium isn't the only electrolyte. Ordinary table salt is another. A lesser known problem is people who have too little salt. I would make sure you are getting the recommended amount. I would also recommend general fitness. I used to get cramping, lots of muscle spasms, etc. it is much reduced.

I do get random cramps like you say, like I had a weird one where it was one side of my abdominal it has sort of caved in. it wasn't painful but very weird looking.

The worst cramps I have got from puking my guts out then hyperventilating. It is always worth having some electrolyte handy, when you get a tummy bug, because you don't want to stay two days in hospital (apart from the isolation ward, which was cool).

If you are retaining fluid in the abdominal region from inflammation, then it is normal to get pain and cramping in and around.

Soda water also has potassium and sodium, (via potassium citrate) and no sugar.
