I found some old threads where some people were interested in this test, so I thought that I'd post the link...if anyone was still interested of course, but this could just be a new thread if people want to just do the test and post their scores
http://www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php - this is an Aspie quiz but once you've done there's some links beneath it for the SPQ - A test (if you wanna do both the Aspie and the SPQ - A test at once
)
http://themachine1.110mb.com/spq.html - this is just the SPQ - A test by itself for those only interested in this test
And these are my results for the SPQ - A test:
Ideas of reference: 7.5 out of 9 (unsure: 0)
Excessive social anxiety: 7 out of 8 (unsure: 0)
Odd beliefs or magical thinking: 1.5 out of 7 (unsure: 0)
Unusual perceptual experiences: 5 out of 9 (unsure: 0)
Odd or eccentric behavior: 6 out of 7 (unsure: 0)
No close friends: 5.5 out of 9 (unsure: 0)
Odd speech : 4.5 out of 9 (unsure: 1)
Constricted affect: 2.5 out of 8 (unsure: 1)
Suspiciousness: 6.5 out of 8 (unsure: 0)
Total SPQ-A: 46 out of 74
But of course these tests can't be particularly relied on and just Googling 'schizophrenia test' or whatever normally comes up with some pretty good screening tests ![]()

I wonder what a normal / average score would be.
FYI - I'm so paranoid, I thought it was my fault what happened yesterday...I still think maybe.

My relatively high scores in some areas are consistent with Asperger's, imho. My odd speech is due to nervousness and social anxiety, not because of incoherent thoughts. My suspiciousness is simply the result of past experience. And "constricted affect" is a joke because the fact that I can't express my emotions doesn't mean that I don't have any. Judging by this test score, I don't think that my schizophrenia diagnosis back in the 1990s was justified.
Here's mine though I have to admit I'm a little skeptical towards the SPQ, and it's accuracy in examining schizo traits.

A lot of those questions repeated themselves too much. There was also too much room for vagueness depending on how each person interpreted the questions.
These two questions are right next to each other and I almost answered them as if they were corresponding to each other.
35. My "non-verbal" communication (smiling and nodding during a Y N conversation) is poor. <---- Yes poor always has been
36. I feel I have to be on my guard even with friends. <---- Yes I'm super on my guard paying extreme attention to everything I say or do because I don't want people to notice my poor verbal/non verbal skills. It's very embarrassing. I would've put yes but then I realized that this question was pertaining to "Suspiciousness" I've taken these tests before and have noticed where the pit falls are for aspies. Even though I can be a little suspicious or paranoid I've never been very suspicious of my friends, that's why they are my friends, but then again I don't have many close friends. I've been used by people due to naiveness and won't be making those same mistakes again.
The other problem I have with this quiz is the word maybe? I had to answer maybe a lot because I do experience a broad spectrum of actual schizotypal and schizoid traits but there is a level of severity to it. I may experience some mildly and others more severe to which the combination of the severe and the broad range with less severity could still attain an official DX related to the schizophrenia spectrum. The problem with schizophrenia related tests is having to weed out where pit falls are for aspies too which is not something that the mental health system is very good at. I do have mental health issues in addition to AS but to get the right treatment I need an autism specialist representing me anytime I approach a mental health worker.

Hmmm, I seem to be scoring higher with Schizophrenia than Asperger's....I've never been diagnosed or tested for either.
In person, I don't think people would suspect much. I hide my thoughts, and I try to hide my emotions, but not always successfully.
I feel like I've inadvertently gotten away with this my whole life, even though it's plagued my mind and soul. Do I get a diagnosis (possibly exposing it to people I don't want to know), or continue to try hide it? I'm not really sure what would be better, especially if I want to keep my job.

As long as you don't have severe problems in your job and your everyday life, I don't see the need to get tested for anything. There is a huge overlap between AS and schizotypal disorders, so people with AS will naturally score much higher than neurotypical people in an SPQ-A test. That's no reason to worry, imho.
Thanks for being so kind CrazyCatLord.
Test score made a pit in my stomach all day....but I know you're right.

I don't really know what to think about this test. For one thing, I'm Wiccan, so magical thinking is pretty much a given. Also, I don't think that knowing that people are sometimes looking to do you harm is anything but realistic. Humans are nasty critters, for the most part.

I think my results fit with my aspergers diagnosis. I have social anxiety and therefore become suspicious that other's may talk about me behind my back (although I am sure some people do because I have heard so much gossip about others that I doubt I am so special that no one gossips about me). I don't have close friends and tend to prefer being alone. I'm seen as "odd" by others because I don't tend to conform to social norms and my odd speech is because others often can't understand the topic I'm discussing (or rather rambling on about) because my special interests are not popular among NTs. So I think the result makes sense.
