That's not actually true, at all. I've got schizoaffective disorder, and even before I knew I was ill I really suffered as a result of the illness. People with "pure schizophrenia" also report suffering and depression as a result of their condition. One in ten schizophrenics kill themselves, mainly those who's illness is not well managed, or is treatment resistant. These poeple may not be aware that they're ill, but they are in great pain.

I've suffered from psychotic delusions and hallucinations since I was sixteen, and for the over twenty years I struggled pre diagnoses I really did care. You can't put down other people's suffering based on the idea that because they're sick they feel nothing. It's simply wrong.

What is so bad about not being religious/spiritual? This is a topic I don't usually like to talk about online because of this type of thing.

Hi, I know what you mean about the images, im not really sure what I have exactly because my mother knows something , and she's hiding it from me - its more like - the texture/ design of an object, wall, door etc that the image appears on but its in your head , and you can see it clearly to know what it is , the images i get - are ... the exor girl- <--- scared to finish it lol ( some other random stuff , and idk but to me they also seem evil, and sometimes i cant keep myself from thinking about it- so i keep looking and it changes into something else or it'll get bigger , this is one of the XX reason i have trouble sleeping -

""GenieSusanWiley"
But in this "video" do they try to attack you?
Well, but you say you aren't scared, so no problem .
I still think, even if this could be just a good imagination, you could try to talk to your parents. Hopeing they are open minded. If they aren't they just could tell you "hey, stop dreaming, grow up!". If you know them very well and you think they could listenint to you without saiying you are just too childish and with a too big imagination, talk to them. If you aren't sure about their reaction, simply ask your doctor"" .

-- um... i read over this a few times , im not sure where your getting at with this..,, sorry.

real comforting...

Besides, you want them to replace imaginary entities with other imaginary entities.

It sounds to me like you have an active imagination. Perhaps you're thinking in "concrete metaphors", and the monsters represent something real in your life that you're sorting out and coming to terms with... in the same way as you do when you're sleeping. So, if they don't scare you, don't worry... and don't pay any attention to candles and such if it doesn't work for you. I'm a Christian, and I'm not about to tell you to pray if you don't believe in it. It really does seem more like an active imagination than schizophrenia.

Ive been diagnosed schizoaffective quite a few times myself. i wasnt trying to argue with anyone. The reason i said this is for me i feel disconnected to a point i wonder what im even thinking. my feelings are completely detached from my conciousness i that notice but other people comment on my beheavior. I find it hard to care about anything not in a depressed way but in a blank nothing sort of way that nothing even exists at times. I have mood swings that appear outwardly but i dont even realize anymore.

EDIT: Oh, also, I have imaginary friends that I know are imaginary, like a little kid would have. They are based on real people. When I talk to one of the real people that they are based on, I realize that they don't know the things that I have told the imaginary versions.

Yeah, that is interesting. I do EXACTLY the same thing and you are the first person I have ever talked to that did the same thing; anytime I have told people about that in the past though they look at me like I am crazy. I know they are not real, but I still don't mind having conversations with them. I don't think it is schizophrenia though, I think it may be related to my catatonic states I go into sometimes due to sensory overloads from my AS (my body goes into spasms and I lose the sense of my surroundings and often my sense of time to a degree. I have some control over it though, so I only do it in private. I enjoy it due to the dopamine my body releases when I do it, along with other reasons). These two things tend to occur around the same time period, but not at the same exact time.

As others have said, this sounds like an active imagination. It did also sound faintly reminiscent of OCD or another anxiety disorder (the worrying about having schizophrenia and the obsessive anxiety around the images), and then I saw your username is ocdgirl123.
