Ok so I have accepted that I am different from most people and all that...but that does nothing to change that I will never be able to be happy with how society is set up. and that by their standards I'm the one with problems so what good does my opposition to it do? I mean I don't think graduating college and getting a job is going to make my life any better, especially when I know I do not want to be contributing to the way things are going. I mean why is it that society mesures success with how many people you've screwed over to get where you are, and how much wealth you have. I don't see how I can possibly play along when I disagree with everything about the way society veiws things. Does anyone else feel like this at all?
I think everyone feels alienated at some point in their lives. I think for us though, it's more extreme--we're perpetually alienated by society and its rules. We feel trapped by things that don't make sense to us; for you, going to college and getting a job are pointless contributions to a society that looks like its going downhill, right? You're frustrated. We're all frustrated because society doesn't accommodate us. And sadly, it doesn't look like it's going to do much for us any time soon. So what can we do? We can be angry and resentful, yes. But we can also make do with the skills we have. We can contribute meaningfully to society without complying to its bogus rules. Do what you want to in life; what others think doesn't matter, as long as you're happy and living meaningfully in your own way.

Well I actually felt that way for all of my life, not just a point in my life....and its not so much that those things wont contribute to society, its that I do not agree with this society or getting a job to support it. I mean I realise if I want to live comfortably at all I have to have a job......but it all seems so meaningless. And well i don't really have a lot of skills, I am fairly good at writing and I am intrested in psychology and sociology but I am not sure what I could do in either of those fields. But yeah I guess I really don't know what I want to do...or how to do it. and I have not been happy in all 21 years of my life so I do not expect to be any time in the future. But you're right I am really the only one that can choose what to do.
