Everything will be going normally then I will start to experience intense energy, restlessness, irritation, agitation, sleep for about 3-7hrs per night (usually need 8.5, I am on sleep meds which dont have their usual sleep inducing effect) without feeling tired, dont need food for energy (food makes the situation worse by further spiking things), I cant focus or concentrate, my brain feels like it is going way to fast.
This will always be followed with a crash of low energy, increased hunger, tiredness, still unable to concerntrate or focus, low motivation, brain feels slow, negative feelings.

This seems to happen every one to two months, each phase lasts a few days, then returns to normal. Havnt been able to identify what triggers it but am dealing with a lot at the moment. I have learnt I can reduce impact of spikes by conscously relaxing, stimming etc. and can reduce impact of crashes by fighting them, however through fighting crashes is hard on me, involves a lot of anger etc. to stimulate energy and action. The whole time is fairly unproductive and difficult to handle.

I would like to know what others think of these symptoms, what they indicate. All I can think of is maybe a mild form of bipolar, however I have no experience with bipolar and dont know what else could fit this.

Im also not sure if I need to see someone medical about this, or if Im better off just trying to find ways to manage it better and figure out what triggers it.

Id appreciate any advice on how to handle this, thanks.

Bipolar disorder is considered to be 'rapid cycling' when you have four or more episodes a year. Yours sounds like 'ultra rapid cycling'. Rapid cycling bipolar disorder is more common in women, which is thought to be because of the fluctuations in female hormones, but it can happen in men too.

Then again it could be something entirely different. It's worth Googling "Rapid Cycling Bipolar Disorder", anyway.

I'm not a doctor, but I experience something similar, but the timescale and intensity are different. In my case every time it's the lack of magnesium from stress/caffeine/alcohol combination and on top of that lots of little problems/unfinished tasks that pile up. And than I crash into a depression.

I'm just guessing, but it's easy to check. For me the indicator is: hyperexcitability, irritability, neurological and muscular symptoms (tremor, muscle spasms, tetany), loss of appetite, depression. Especially tremors, muscle spasms are very characteristic.
