All view months Tourette!?

I have tics, but just all view months I have them very strong, and also verbal tics and then again on other times most of the tics are like gone for even a fiew months.

I take magnesium at those times when my tics are stronger and this helps.

But I wonder, is this "normal" with Tourette's that it comes and goes like this?

I dunno, but it differs, sometims all 2 or 3 months, sometimes a lot more often, sometimes just 3 times a year and then the tics stay for a while.
Usually my tics come like episodes and in between nearly nothing.

Oh you mean it cycles? I don't have TS but had tics as a kid and they definitely came and went. It probably also depends on your general stress levels, hormones etc.

Yes, in cycles.

They come and go and I dunno why!
I'm on hormone treatment (testosterone) and since then I have those cycles more often and also magnesiume plays a certain role, stress and other factors possible, but I dunno.

I cycle. I kind of have a saw wave cycle. It builds up gets really bad then drops dead. Then builds up, gets bad drops dead... over and over.

I'm also Transgender, on HRT (Estrogen though), and I got a massive increase in tics starting it.

That's interesting, I know several transgender ladies and they all have motor tics.

Transgenderism seems more common in Tourette's. (Though not so much the other way around in my experience)

Okay, I'm the "other way around".
I just know one Transwoman who also tics (but very very mild), the other ones I know don't.

I don't really identify with the term "Tourette", eventhough I know, I fit it, because most of the time I don't tic and think: "oh, this was just an exeption", until my tics start again.
I'm the same with my moodswings. I think I'm just fine, until they start again and when the depression starts, I make myself believe that I've "just" depression.

I'm lucky, I have very looong cycles and my tics go mostly away with magnesiume, when I've an "episode" again.
I don't have someone else with Tourette in my family, but my grandma has very strong OCD and I believe, that OCD and Tourette are connected.

I assumed it was the hormones that may have triggered tics, I didn't know my friend before she transitioned and I figured she is aware of the tics and didn't want anyone prying into this (she is very private about a lot of things like this)

Hormones can worsen the tics, but don't cause them.
Those ppl had tics bevore, I know.

When I'm at work and the phone's ringing off the hook, with people whispering to each other, I just take a short break to let my tics out. (My facial tics get out of control fast)

Personally, If I try to hold one in, all the others get worse. It's like I'm normally holding in a few subconsciously but when I focus on one they all get out.

It is very normal to get better and worse on a regular basis. This is called 'waxing and waning'. I can go for days or weeks with few tics then suddenly have an explosion with no warning! Tourettes and OCD is to some extent linked. Like you, there is no one in my family with it, but there is one severe case of OCD noted in the medical records. I have both!

Yes, a lot of ppl with Tourette also have OCD. I have routines, but not OCD. So I wonder if my Tourette is so mild, because I've no OCD in addittion!?

But right, those two are connected, my grandma is a severe case of OCD, so I believe there is the connection to my Tourette.

But why is it, that Tourette is comming and going like this?

I have no idea, I've just been told that it does this. It would be interesting to know why.
