I am dxed with Asperger's, ADD, and bipolar. As a kid, I was irritable, unfocused, disorganized, had both OCD and ASD style routines, thought I was a magical being until maybe 5th grade, (I don't know how serious I was about it, to what extent it was imagination), had bad social skills and was bullied a lot. So I was depressed and everything but I was better at reading than other kids and so I held on to that.

By 7th grade, we went on sabbatical and I had no friends, I was okay for most of seventh grade but I got put on Prozac for depression and went kind of nuts. By eighth grade, back at my home school, I was even more disorganized and irritable, I had a mental breakdown trying to decipher something I couldn't possibly... I tried to convince myself I was a genius, (not in general but literary genius), but I knew I wasn't a joked about it. I did want to be smart, though. I tried to subvert things and be original and I made a fool of myself. Had a meltdown in October and went to the hospital, was put on Risperidone and taken off Prozac. Got better but I was behind in school and had to leave in December, I resisted thinking the way they wanted me to at first, but by February I was normal.

I haven't had any problems more than four years later, no high or low level mania. I was thirteen then and am eighteen now. My school social worker thinks I don't have bipolar because I am extremely stable and present no symptoms to her, same thing with my clinical social worker.

I still have ASD and OCD symptoms, I'm not dxed with OCD but some people have said I might have it. I do continue to struggle with depression, but I've had no mania symptoms for a long time. This is after staying up til 3 am and 4 am several times, drinking alcohol, doing pot a few times, (and getting really high once), drinking a lot of caffeine. So I don't know.

It's possible your not bipolar. I guess it could maybe be something like psychotic depression but it might be good to stay on the Risperidone if you've been pretty stable on it & don't notice bad side-effects. Just incase anyone wants you to get off of it.
