Can someone please give me some advice? Very recently, I've been dealing with intrusive thoughts that seem to resemble persecutory delusions. For example, I'm terrified that me and most people in the world are being mind controlled by the government somehow. I'm also afraid that "reality" isn't real, so to speak. I've been weaning myself off of spirituality-centric YouTubers, as they help to contribute to my anxiety, but so many of them talk about how most people are too reliant on science and how therapists are helping to contribute to preventing some sort of mass awakening. I made a post about this earlier if you want links to the people that I'm talking about. Can someone please reassure me that I'm not insane?
Hmmm... well, I know for myself that if it makes me feel crazy, I have to delay it until I'm better prepared for it. That doesn't mean that I've written it off, all together. It's just on hold for a while.
I have also suffered from intrusive thoughts and I think that the tendency toward introversion contributes to the anxiety. Shine a light on the thoughts, don't let them grow in the dark. Seek a therapist, a support group, a friend, etc... and talk, talk, talk about it. Keeping myself physically busy helps me too: "move a muscle, change a thought." I'm not sure where you live or your interests, but if nothing else, walk around your home. Keep your hands busy...
You are not crazy, you can do this!
