I guess art school it is then, in some or other form :) It really helps to have read your various insights. A lot of the time I feel like I work in a hole in the ground. I know every bit of it inside out, but never really see what's happening above.


One thing I found out when I attended Pratt. I learned more from my fellow students than from the instructors.

Thanks for the links! I had missed some of them - and some of my favorite artists like Zdislav Beksinski I found out about through recommendations. Tooker's work is interesting, doesn't really hit me that hard. Chirico is too Dali-esque (I'm not a fan of Dali I'm afraid). Bacon, wow, I've know the name for a really long time but I never got around to checking his work out, and I expected something totally different. Really love his stuff. Giger is the one I do know - I guess he's the first artist that blew my mind. His work also intimidated me so much that it too me many years to dare to study and try to deconstruct it.
