I had a shrink who got pissed at the suggestion that one's taste in music had anyting to do with one's personality. And indeed -it probably doesnt.

But on the other hand - when people ask me what my favorite band is I usually reply " its a toss up between Led Zeppilin, and Earth, Wind, and FIre", which causes folks to look at me strange- as if that were an odd combination.

So maybe it does mean something.

Anyway- name some "folk metal" bands.

Actually Led Zep, Thin Lizzy, and Metallica, have all done metal versions of traditional folk and blues songs- like "Whiskey in Jar", "Gallows Pole", "When the Levi Breaks".

cos of my Irish ethnic background i feel a strong connection with traditional folk/celtic music (but not that new age relaxation nonsense) which isn't that unusual.

my other passion is Indie & alternative music; Pavement, Daniel Johnston, Tullycraft, Moldy Peaches, Jeffrey Lewis etc. anything that's interesting and not mainstream- i'm a total indie kid (but not in an annoying hipster way!)

I also like classical, avant-garde, metal, experimental jazz, electronic music & anything that's in an odd key or time signature or has weird instruments. basically anything that sounds odd

i'm very eclectic as you can tell
