My chemical romance?

Danger days has some good songs but overall it sounds too happy. If I want to listen to music that isnt depressive I can pick a song by ke$ha or whatever pop artist, they used to make music that was different to that kind of singers.
As an aside they were already succesfull when they released the black parade(it sold 1,610,000 copies on less than a year only in the us)so I cant understand why they decided to make such a strong change.

There is actually a dark underlying theme on Danger Days, it's about finding hope in disaster. It's another concept album. You can't really compare it to Ke$ha or whatever, it has a happy feel but it's about real things not just getting drunk and partying.. Also, popularity and commercial success shouldn't be the reason a band plays in one style or another, so TBP album sales were great and I'm glad they got recognition but if they had just stayed the same it wouldn't have been authentic and would have been disappointing.
I liked the comic book "Umbrella Academy" written by Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance and with art by the Brazilian artist Gabriel Bá. It won a Eisner Award in 2008. The storyline is better than most of the comics focusing more on adult issues. I bought the firtst issue ("Apocalypse Suite") but they didn't release the second one ("Dallas") here (Brazil) (What a coincidence!).

I was making a comment to a poster at the start of this thread that said that they had gone less depressive.
There´s plenty of non depressive music out there and if I want to listen to something that isnt depressive I can turn the radio on any minute and listen to whatever is "in" at the moment, my chemical romance made/is still ,making music that is different to that.
As for their new album perhaps I need to give it a few more listens and it will grow on me. It has a couple of songs with good potential.
