Radiohead - "How to Disappear Completely"
Portishead - "Threads"

I don't know how unique to me it is that only the darkest, bleakest, most dismal musical expressions can move me in their beauty.

Notorious B.I.G.'s Everyday Struggle, at least the hook of the song.

Glory Box from Portishead

And the entire In the Court of the Crimson King album puts me in a mood like almost no other album has (except ATLiens from OutKast) :D

People will laugh at Amy Winehouse's song given her demise. For me it was a serious issue I have had to face for most of my life. I went through a lot of rehabs and hospitals from the consequences of my alcoholism and addiction. I discovered Amy Winehouse when I first heard this song. I didn't know Amy Winehouse was an addict until after this song was released and at that time, when this album first came out, they said she was getting clean. At first I found this song personally humorous because I was facing the same situation. I even lied to people about my sobriety so I could go back home. I tried staying clean for a while but went back. I didn't hit rock bottom until I had a serious knife wound to my stomach and was kicked out of my house. It's been an ongoing battle but I've stayed cleaned for some time now. This song is no longer funny especially now. Amy's death reminds me of what I can face if I do go back. RIP Amy.

Nothing's going to change my world....and nothing has changed my world. But I'm sort of kind of going through this phase of avoiding the conflicts in my everyday reality right now.

Although I've never gotten to do most of these things the lyrics describe in each frame of age, I really identify with it. Time really flies like days as you get older. Mentally I feel like 15 but am 29. I'm amazed how fast life passes by and how much one can miss out. I try and cherish each day like there is no other.

That song always makes me sad and reminds me that we are all gonna die someday so I deleted it off my ipod. Do you listen to any other songs from that artist?

Glósóli by Sigur Rós, the song's lyrics are like a narrative of my life so far.

I didn't even know who they were till I listened to this song. I haven't really listened to the rest of their stuff which is kind of unusual for me.

Yes in some ways this song is sad. It's a reminder that we are who we are for just one moment. I don't ever take this short span of existence for granted like I use to. I remember before my grandmother died, how she'd wish she was young again. She'd oogle at guys and make comments about how it sucked to get old. I think that's why we were very close, she never really grew old mentallly. Her death was not like losing a grandmother but a best friend from highschool. We are only this age and this person for a moment.
