Those were all excellent - thanks again! I like that Tortoise seems to have a more prominent jazz influence than some other post-rock stuff that I've heard. And the sound of the snare drum on that first song was just perfect.

I listened to the first song from the Cloudkicker album and also the Sunlight Ascending song - they were both really good! I need to go back and listen to rest of the album when I'm not so tired and can pay attention.

I'm a huge Mogwai fan myself. Most albums I have is post-Rock Action. Though, I looked it up for what post-rock means, and it turns out there is so much more to it than just what Do Make Say Think, Godspeed! and Mogwai bring to the table. Post-Rock is supposed to mean avant-rock music. A new way of approachin rock, indie rock or really music in general. Being intersted in listening to avant garde music, that sounds like my kind of music.
All definitions aside, I also love Explosions and MONO.
Finally! A post-rock discussion! Honestly my favorite genre. A lot of great bands in this forum...anyone heard of or listened to Laura, en plein air, Frames, Wixel, Echotide, Enemies, Karate, toe, or Aesthesys? Not all of them are mainly post rock...some just slightly...but still, try them. If anyone would like to try some ambient too, not to digress, try Deaf Center and Worrytrain.
