Should I be an author?

It's probably been said already, but the sentences are dragging on a bit far. I was also confused as I thought the first sentence was in the present tense, but then jumped to the past tense. Also, a few too many long words. That's just my piece on this, probably doesn't mean much.

Kraichgauer and Iamaparakeet, are you sure private messages wouldn't be a better place to discuss? That's getting pretty long and OP is probably checking back looking for responses that help him with his questions about writing and becoming an author.

I am the OP and until my wife is back, I can't focus on writing. Maybe PMs would be better, but I'd like my wife to know I love her and I hope she is reading so that I can keep letting her know it. I said wrong about her here, so I'm trying to make it up by saying right about her here. I love my wife and if I could do anything to bring her back I would. I miss her more than anything and anyone else in my life, including my mom and dad.

Yeah, I know I tend to make run-on sentences. Thanks for the criticism.
