Rap-not only annoying, but degrading

I haven't listened to pop music since about 1987, because everything got so annoying after that.

Fixed, yet still ill-informed.

Reading further into this thread, I hate it, and as such should probably stop reading it.

I've been trying to stop myself posting a reply... I've failed.

Its a lot easier to moan about what you don't like than search out something you do, isn't it?

That's easy.

The Umbrella song (Whatever it's called.)
Anything by Akon.
Songs by Rascal Flatts
Avril Lavigne (sp?) songs because they just strike me as mean.
Country Music
Most Rap
Hip-Hop
Can't think of anymore at the moment. Also I would like to say that I acknowledge the fact that some people like this sort of music and I have no problem with it as long as they don't play it where I can hear it. :)

Yes. YEEEEESSSS

I don't mind rap or country, but the number one radio single smash success that I want to chop up with a hatchet is "Hey There Delilah". Seriously. I'm 13, so I doubt it has anything to do with my age group, because everyone else I know loves it and I can't see why. This song is just ridiculous - the singing is flat and boring, the guitar only plays a small handful of generic notes, it has no drums yet calls itself "rock", it has virtually no tune, and the lyrics are generic clichés. Their other songs are fine, but I said this before on RIA and I'll say it again: the song's like being slapped in the face with a lifeless rubber chicken, but instead of being funny, it's just sad.

Apparently all people really want on the radio is s**t.

Give Gwar, SOAD, Rammstein, Metallica and a whole slew of other metal bands along with one-off awesomes such as the Vernian process(A really kick-a** artist which makes really bad-a** music) a chance for f**k's sake.

That awful Gwen Stefani song that goes 'wahoo, yeah hoo', through its entirety. It sounds so irritatingly twee.

Also, that song that goes My humps my humps my humps... etc.

They should really ban stuff like this from YouTube.

The current popular music scene is so repugnant to me that I rarely, if ever, listen to the radio, and when I do, I try to stick to the classic rock radio stations. Otherwise, I'm perfectly content with my CDs.
