Great thread idea (considering I was about to post the same thing :P )

First Place: The Great Gig in the Sky - Pink Floyd

An obvious pick in my opinion, it's the perfect song of mourning. No song I know of expresses grief as powerfully as this one, it takes my breath away every time.

Second Place: Send me on my Way - Rusted Root

The song name alone is a beautiful last message to your family, and the song is just about the most joyous sendoff you could possibly think of.

Third Place: How to Disappear Completely - Radiohead

This could quite possibly be my favourite song of all time, its otherworldly lyrics and sound are... well you just have to hear it I guess.

(Sorry to bump this thread up, but it's better than posting an identical one.)

Blue Monday - New Order
Charmless Man - Blur
Timeless - Goldie
Brain Damage - Pink Floyd
Working Class Hero - John Lennon

One of those five.

Speaking of funeral songs, we had this one made for a friend who passed recently.

Makes me cry everytime I hear this song b/c he had shared it with me a week before he died.

Dan Auerbach- When the night comes :(

Not sure what song would suit me in a funeral as I plan to just be cremated ASAP.

I want this one:

This Will You Destroy - The Mighty Rio Grande

I'd like my ashes to be spread out on the surface of the ocean. The return to our home.
It's a beautiful thought, it may not happen. But it's my wish, it's nice if it'll be granted.

Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Momentary Lapse of Reason, and The Division Bell in their entirety and order.
The last track of Division Bell, "High Hopes," would make a dramatic finish.

If I get run over by a bus, then it has to be "Truth Don' Die".
