My all-time favourite band will always be Sonic Youth.

As for my other favourites, I tend to have them in 2 categories:

Stuff I like now (yes, I am a hipster):

Hudson Mohawke, Flying Lotus, Onra, Lone, Bibio, Ford & Lopatin/Games, Com Truise, Neon Indian, James Blake, The Weeknd, Dam-Funk, anything J. Dilla made or produced, Tyler the Creator, SBTRKT, Cocteau Twins, M83, My Bloody Valentine, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, Velvet Underground, Joy Division, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, other older gothy type bands (Sisters of Mercy etc).

Stuff that reminds me of earlier times in my life (I'll play stuff like this if want to relive those memories, not so much now):

most Sonic Youth, Nirvana, NIN, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Pearl Jam, Hole, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, assorted 90s rock and industrial bands, Skinny Puppy, Wumpscut, Broken Social Scene, Metric, Stars, Bjork, Of Montreal, Deerhoof, Feist, Regina Spektor, Land of Talk, Chad Vangaalen, Leonard Cohen, assorted indie/folk stuff.

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.
