It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

cracking song, but its an REM song really... :P

The GBS version is way better! No band will ever be even close to them in awesome-ness!

Don't know if it's already been posted, but one i heard in the movie, City of Angels goes something like this:

'And I don't want the whole world to see me.
Cos I don't think that they'd understand.
When everything tends to be broken (not sure if this line is 100% right)
I just want you to know who I am.'

I think those lines define aspieness very well.

'And I don't want the whole world to see me.
Cos I don't think that they'd understand.
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am.'
---> beautiful song...

Not an "aspie" song but everybody hurts is very good, also...

Not Half Right
by: Elliott Smith

well you shouldn't doctor yourself
well i pictured somebody else
someone who looks like
what i look like

would you say that the one of your dreams
got in you and ripped out the seams
that's what i'd say
that's what i'd say

he was a sucker for your double dose
motherf***er turned white as a ghose
don't you say hi
don't you say hi

with your broken sink for a face
in a head that just takes up space
he's not half right
he's not half right

it's already half past
and it won't last

i was sticking up for my friend
well there's nothing much to defend
it's a lost fight
it's a lost fight

cos when i talk to you on the phone
well, it's just like being alone
it's not half right
it's not half right

Louisa, I love that song! Now I know who it is by. :D

Another song that might be of interest. This "Voice of Truth", by Casting Crowns. I heard the story behind it once, but forgot what it was. If I can remember or find it (or if someone else knows the story), I'll post it. Very cool song.

Quote:
"Voice of Truth"

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
on to the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand

But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"

Chorus:
But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes
to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone

Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name
And he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy you'll never win!"

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
On top of them lookin' down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

Chorus:
But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me (calling out to me)
I will choose to listen and believe-

I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth

I will listen and believe
I will listen and believe the Voice of truth
I will listen and believe
Cause Jesus you are the voice of truth
And I will listen to you, you are-

Joydivision- Isolation
Gary Numan- Films (song about paranoia, as is Cars)
Joydivision- Atmosphere
The Smiths- Ask
Suede-Obssesions

I can empathise with the line in 'How Soon Is Now' by The Smiths which goes
'You go to a club on your own and you leave on your own, you go home you cry and you want to die.'
As there was a period of time in which I went to local pub and I would stand in the corner dressed like I dress (Tufty hair and suit) and hope to meet some people. But it never quite worked.
Asside from a time some one told me to 'smile, chill out and stop looking so intense'.
Mind you I would usally talk to the cover bands but I don't think many of the musicians liked me.
Once I corrected some band member who said the Undertones were John Peels favourite band, I reminded them it was The Fall.

I love Elliott Smith. How about Can't Make A Sound, where he sings,

Why would you want any other
When you're a world within a world

I read some where they think David Byrne has AS.
The talking heads 'Fear of Music is a seminal album I love it.
'Nothing but Flowers' is a fantastic song. Jonny Maher from The Smiths plays the Twelve String on it. Musically it's one of those songs that flood my spirit with hope.

Morrissey- Hair Dresser on Fire (I always though the line 'Could you fit me in an empty page of your diary, systematically change me and psychologically save me' applied to me as I find having my hair cut quite akward as it's never right- mind you I may have mis quoted)

Kraftwerk- Autobahn
I thought this may be good for some as I have read that some people with AS become fixated with transport.

If you discount the rant about class. Common people by Pulp may be a good song.

I know I was walking through town the other day, and I felt on edge. As people around me were spoiling for a fight and I had to get a chip fork as they have none in the chinese.
So I felt so paranoid at people all shouting stuff like ''We're gonna get mossy''.
Refering to this guy who a bit of a mess.

Gang of Four- Tourist is a good one for me. In particular 'At home he feels like a tourist, He fills his head with culture, Gives himself an ulcer'.
