Oh s**t. So I done lots of research about American culture during the mid-1800s and my story has a lot of truths from that time, but I totally forgot about the marriage and divorce laws. I thought it was like how it is today - if you have separated and living in different homes then you can see other people. I'm hoping that maybe women from higher class families got support from their parents for court proceedings and divorce could just go ahead like that, maybe without the man needing to be too involved.

EDIT: It's okay, I've found out a solution. Apparently people went to Indiana to get divorced quickly and easily, so I can just have the wife do that in my story. Thank you, Indiana, you saved my story! :lol:

I've been working on a female-led Western for some time now, making sure her stalker gets what he deserves.

During fight scenes, she never uses guns, just her hands and dry wit with some cursing to match.

She is a schoolteacher who unexpectedly becomes a surprise hit with the town's children.
