Poem: Savage Forgiveness
Just something quick I whipped up.
Enjoy!
====
Gaze upon ancient crystal spires
Desiccated by rage and power untold and unknown
Mere mortals gaze upon ye and despair
For to see such beauty and delicacy defiled such as this
Is to gaze upon their own souls and find themselves the perpetrators
Shards tumble like graceless hail and shatter upon cold earth
With blood weeping from the wounds revealed by falling crystal
Gaze upon the weeping beauty and despair for should such things be defiled
Then what are you if not easier to maim…easier to defile?
Tremble as the falling crystal slices at you like merciless daemon-claws
And gasp in shock as you feel the fire burning from the slashes
For to feel such power after such ages past is truly a horrific thing
And to know you have that same need to defile running through your darkening blood
Slowly crumble and turn to dust shall spires of translucent stone
Slowly shatter and break to reveal whatw as hidden and trapped, a prison of fragile beauty
And reveal that which stands within, trapped by thick blood and sharp crystal
Pale cheeks revealed yet as flawless as moonlight, ivory and pure
And eyes slowly part like flowers opening to reveal sapphire orbs gazing out
Black hair tumbles carelessly down the spine yet soaked with blood, clinging to her
Like an old lover or forgotten friend
Mortals gaze upon such a defiled beauty, reborn through pain and devastation!
Fear such a being that has emerged for she has proven herself better through age upon age of ceaseless torment
And as she descends like seraphim raped, tremble as those eyes pass over you and deliver eternal judgement
She hates you not and instead forgives you for the trespasses you have made and the inaction which caused her imprisonment
Pale lips part and a voice as soft as starlight yet as scorching as lightning, lashing all
She forgives you and yet with the same tongue-stroke damns you to forever die within yourselves
She curses you to forever doubt yourself and find yourself unworthy.
This is a being of pain and devastation, desiccation and defilement
And her name is simple and it comes forth from pale lips still slick with blood
“Humanity”
She is what we have locked away without our crystal hearts, so cold and sharp to keep others away
She is the forgiveness and savagery we ignore and drive out so we may be pure
And as we wither and die beneath her proclomotion of forgiveness, we know fear
For she is us…and knows us.
And we fear being known.
