What is the thing that I despise the most? What could that be? Is it... sports? YEAH, RIGHT ON!! I HATE SPORTS! H-A-T-E hate 'em! I cannot stand the fact that there has to be sports in the damn world! Good lord! I could rant for hours... Alright, do you want to know why I hate sports? Here's why:

You see, for the past 2 years or my middle school has been bragging about sports and hosting annoying pep rallies, another thing I hate. Well, I didn't have a problem with them like for 2 years, but then it just got to the point to where I couldn't stand it anymore! When I started high school last year, everything the school was talking about was sports, sports, sports and SPORTS!! SHUT UP!! Another reason why I hate sports is because of the repetition. I just think it's a waste of time to watch people hitting balls with a bat or running down a stadium with a ball or kicking a ball into a net. ARGH!! It's so damn annoying! Last but not least, I hate sports video games for 2 reasons, number 1, sports are stupid and 2, video games are supposed to be based off fiction, or have something to do with reality, for instance, shooting guns, or hopping on mushrooms. So that's why I don't like sports. If you guys think I'm a fa***t, fine, but just know that just because you don't like sports it doesn't make you a man. However, for you other people like me who hates sports, please feel free to tell me why.

I know that many sport enthusiasts will say that sports is necessary to keep your mind and body in balance, and that it is a great stress reliever, but when I play sports, it has the polar opposite effect on me. Whenever I was finished my daily P.E. class during high school, I felt even worse and even more stressed out than before. I guess sports are just not for everyone.

Sports never was and never is my scene.

Sports seems to be so important that my college raised the price of tuition, textbooks, and scantrons for the sports department. It is not like there are more productive (and cooler, to be perfectly honest) subjects these kids could be studying.

My only complaint is that this is the art, writing, and music thread... but anyway...

You are in a place where you are going to find huge numbers of people who hated P.E., who still hate it, and don't think much of sports either.

I hate the professional sports scene, the obsessive loyalty to people you never so much as met before all because they happen to win a game, or come from your state... the tendency of these boobs to actually get into arguments with other similarly useless watchers about which of their pet strangers are the best. If those people, besotted as they are with these games, chose to get together and go out and play them themselves, they'd not only get some exercise but might actually have the right to be proud of their side winning.

And if the schools would put any thought or effort into teaching something useful instead of the usual P.E. nonsense, they might actually find kids want to get some exercise. All this running a mile under a certain time or the coach makes you feel like a slacker nonsense should go. Running until you can't breath isn't exercise.

I hated sports in school because I suck at sports. It never seemed like they gave you a chance to get better at anything in the game, they just stuck you in it with the girl on steroids and expected you to play. Yeah, we had a girl so mean we thought she had to be taking something. We played endless games of volleyball because it rains a lot in Louisiana and because they think in the South that there is only one sport (football) and girls don't play it. I took ROTC one year just to avoid gym class. And I hate ROTC! And basketball... I forgot that one. How many times did I hear it? "You're tall, you should be good at this." Yeah, if I was tall enough to reach up and pop it into the basket, sure! I'm only 5'8" for crying out loud.

I wonder whatever happened to going out to play... Just going out to play. Not being forced to do things you hate because the law says they have to provide them. They actually send us a report saying that my daughter, 11 years old, didn't do very well in push-ups. PUSH-UPS? Yes, well, 11-year-old girls are usually so good at those. Puh. But that's not a sport, I suppose.

But I'll tell you this, I never had a worthwhile P.E. class until I went to college. P.E. isn't usually what you think of as a college course, but they have them and the great thing about college is, you choose your classes. So they know they can't make you do diddly-crap if you don't want to. And you get treated with some respect for a change. So in college, I finally learned how to exercise instead of being made to play volleyball with big-haired cave trolls.

I agree that sports games are totally useless. I don't agree that all games have to be fictional... but I've never seen the appeal of one that wasn't! I hate sports games, simulation games of all kinds (feed the imaginary pet or it dies, wow, that's loads of fun. Like I don't have enough to think about), civilization and conquest games... or games with no jokes.

Where I live there are huge numbers of illiterate high school dropouts who are obsessed with college football. Can someone please explain that one to me?

I dislike sports too. I slowly lost interest in it since high school. The only sport I like is bowling.

seemingly everyone likes sport. every free to air station on the weekends in australia seems to play sport all afternoon. in the mornings they play music videos which are completely boring.
i have cable TV but it is in my lounge room, and when i am in bed, i have to put up with "free to air TV". today i wanted to go to sleep in the afternoon (as it was raining outside and i also had a late night). i like to select some documentary that i can listen to without having to look at the screen. the drone of the voice and my attachment to it "wafts" me off to sleep.

today, on every blasted station , there were sports commentators bellowing their commentaries of some game in progress, and i was annoyed that so many people want to see that type of thing, and therefore that is all that is available to watch.

there are also dumb masculine ads in the ad breaks. the whole thing is not conducive to sleep if i roll over and listen to it.

i have no idea about what "teams" in sport are called, and i have no idea about upcoming sports events.

the rest of the world plans their days around upcoming sporting events, and i do not even know they going to happen.

one night i went with tammy to the tavern and there was a "state of origin" football game on.
it took us by surprise because we went there to eat, and there was much shouting and showing off and testosteronous behavior.
they all punched the air and shreiked in loud support when someone they liked scored a goal, and it pierced my and tammy's head so we left.

on the way out, someone asked how we could walk out on a game as important as this one.
i said that i use my legs and he became belligerent and nothing happened, but he was saying insulting things to us as we walked down the stairs into the carpark.

sports and sporting events are not of any interest to me whatsoever.
