Why is it it seems the only references to Gullivers Travels seems to be with the Lilliputians?

The only thing I know about the Lilliputians is, some guy I used to work with took a leave of absence and when he came back, he was all doped up on oxycontin and said he felt like there were Lilliputians hammering away at his head. It made me want to read the book, but in the 4 years since he mentioned that, I haven't gotten around to it. :D
