I'm a huge fan of this band - have been since "EDT" came out, but this video is .... embarrassing to watch. It's so hammy. I really wish metal got a decent video director who understood how to create visuals which matched the mood of the music. Even high- budget productions (like the recent stuff by Amon Amarth for example) are just sad.

Yeah, it's ridiculous but this one kills everything.

Haha .... I think the spirit of the Immortal video is very much alive today. They just shoot with better cameras now so the cheese is easier to spot.

The Immortal video is a classic for sure - I'm not sure if it's the "most satanic" or whatever, but it set the benchmark.

None of the above? I didn't find anything so strikingly satanic as to make either stand out above other imagery seen in other music videos... honestly, I found them more comic than anything. No offense meant, just not really my area of interest, nor am I impressed with the quality or content of them... just my opinion.

Oh I dont think satanism even begins to enter into it - none of these bands are really satanic. They just use the image liberally. It is and always has been about theatrics. The music is dark and dramatic, and you need visuals which match somehow. Satanism is the easiest (and note, the cheapest!) way to get there.

That's about as good as I've seen an "evil" metal video get. The budget was pretty big though. One of the problems with the entire genre's videos is they're obsessed with using the same hokey "band" shots - instead of actually using the band as props/actors to tell a visual story, we get the same macho/aggro standing around with instrument crap. Behemoth do some interesting stuff here when they put their gear down and get dressed up, but the rest I can do without. Either play a song for the camera, or tell a dark story, but please, not both - it doesn't work.

I know that Dimmu Borgir isn't satanic, but the video itself is very anti-christian, (I know, it has NOTHING with satanism to do but you get to see the devil in his true form, a woman, you also get to see a very blasphemic version of The Last Supper.
