Any musicians want to be my pen friend?
I want to feel like my music is important, and my practice is important... I want to send my lyrics and music to a musician on here whom is interested in hearing about my lyrics and music, and I can see their lyrics and music, and we can talk about music on a daily basis on here, and encourage each other to keep playing, and to set ourselves structured targets for playing and learning and such.
I am very lonely and I feel like I'm grabbing at smoke right now with my music, so I really need motivation and a reason to want to practice for hours per day.

Perhaps the idea of showing lyrics and music might be a bit of a tense subject... I don't know. I don't want to seem like a cheat or anything.

Hi Samtoo. Like you, I am a musician. Although I am a schoolteacher by profession, I have been a professional musician since I was in high school in the early 1980s.
I play the organ, synthesizer, hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, piano, trombone, echo harmonica, etc.
My styles of music include folk, new age, gospel, and pop.
My current project will involve a lot of Appalachian mountain/ folk music on dulcimers and traditional bluegrass instruments.
This project is a dream of mine. It is to be a musical mixed with Cirque du Soleil type acrobatics. It has a story line and plenty of mysterious elements complete with Greek mythology.
I am not sure I am the person you would want to communicate a lot with. But if by some chance your music is like mine, a collaboration could be arranged if you were interested in this project. Of course we would have to gain a trust in each other if this were to happen.
This is very strange timing tonight because I had just picked up my notes and diagrams on this musical project after not having picked them up for some time. I have a tremendous desire to write this musical, but I have felt like I need a partnership in it. If I were to work with anyone on it, I would most want to work with someone else with autism who had experience in music.
As far as music goes---I don't have any of it written out. The songs are in my mind, and I can play them on my instruments. I do not have lyrics for all of them. But I do have the story structure and scenes figured out for the musical.
I feel like this is a long shot for this to work. But we could encourage each other. I doubt I could promise to communicate on a daily basis. But maybe once a week could work.
What style of music do you like?

Wow glider18 that is all very impressive indeed.
^^
You are a lot more advanced at music than I currently am. I am still yet to be at a professional standard with few styles alone, although I have a real intention to become very skilled as of recent.
I suppose, although I would like to call it somewhat unconventional, the music I write is typically Melodic Acoustic Rock, and the covers I play are a mix of songs from very sort of common and rather simple - if we're talking from a professional point of view - styles to play.
I have zero experience with writing a musical, but I do have potential and talent. I do not have good theory knowledge in terms of actually reading music that isn't tablature. It would be interesting for me to try to collaborate with a musical but I very much doubt with my lack of knowledge on musical theory and lack of virtuous knowledge in music I will be able at my current standard.
I would say we are very different in our taste in music but I find your versatility and virtuous style, in depth knowledge with music and ability to play a whole range of instruments highly impressive and truly professional.
I wish to have the ability of a professional as well in due time.
It is rather typical with me - I play guitar and sing, and I write songs that usually have a kind of Melodic Rock type of feel about them.
I would say I am good, I would say that much, but I also know that I need to progress a lot and practice much more than I currently am doing. As I get older perhaps I too one day will have the very broad range of knowledge on music that you have.
^^
I know our knowledge, difference of skill and level in music is very noticably different, but if you would be interested in talking at times and sharing encouragement, then sure that would be cool.
If I could be of use, then perhaps I would give it a try, but in either case - very best wishes for your musical.
^^ I am sure everything will form well and you will have a cracking good project created.
A good day to you. ![]()

Thank you, I will keep in touch with you. I will try (in the next day or two) to link a video of me playing one of the songs that I want to use in the musical. It is one I made up and am playing on the mountain dulcimer. It might take me a couple days though to get it linked---I have to get it onto a format to link here. But I will get if for you to listen to.
By the way, are you interested in caves? (And I probably won't respond anymore tonight because it is almost midnight here and I have to get up early in the morning).
I am very glad to meet you here. I look forward to keeping in touch. I need a musical friend too. I need encouragement like you do. I will try to do my best for you. But I am sure you are quite talented.

I have been playing guitar for about as long as I can remember. I tend to gravitate more to the electric guitar, although I do love to play my National resonator. ( Its like it has built in reverb). My main interest lately is lap steel. I just ordered a DVD to improve my chops.
I would not call myself a pro, lots of my friend are in bands and I like to sit in. I've had offers to join but have not found one that seems like a good fit.
Mostly I like to write instrumentals. I also love to improvise. Give me some chord changes to play over and let me go!
I also enjoy building effects pedals, circuit bending and low fi synth. (electronics is another interst/obsession of mine)
I don't know if any of this will be of interest to you. Normally I can't shut up about music so I would be happy to talk about it as time permits.
Do you come from a musical family? When I was a kid I thought everybody played guitar.
Working on anything in particular?
