“Stuck”
I faked my way to find success
I failed and got laughed at
Peer pressure digs in; now the façade gets under my skin
I tried to transform in my summertime cocoon
Instead of a butterfly I came out a moth
When I gave up myself I gave up everything I love
People think they know who I am but really they know a cover up
A lie
A disguise
A costume I can’t get out of
Now I sit here wishing I could’ve caught myself in this act
That is really what I am
An act
A masquerade party
A false image
Dollar after dollar I spent trying to look like and act like them
Reality has stuck me like a bolt of lighting
Now I know there’s no turning back
I’m stuck with the masked I placed upon my face
I can’t take it off
I pleased a crowd of people who were actually throwing tomatoes or even worse
They were deceived by my actress qualities
