I am sorry, but I do not even consider Katy Perry a singer. She is just another "pop star", by pop meaning about to explode any minute. It is just the video era. Any person with a mediocre voice, good looks (it does not matter how the got that look), zero integrity and great personality can become a star now. Talent is not important anymore.

That's an important distinction.
Talent is still important to me, and other connoisseurs like me.

I actually love that song. It reminds me of people lying around by the beach in Florida or somewhere warm at night looking up at the stars and making up a song about just having fun out of nowhere. It's not serious and that's what I like about it. It actually puts me in such an elated... no elated isn't even the word... sublime mood I can't even describe it, the music is just so canteringly-along easy and nice and fun and happy.

About the inappropriateness... I used to cover my ears anytime I heard "inappropriate" lyrics in songs until I was 16/17. So I understand.

I dislike it too. In terms of Katy Perry, it's not her worst song (she's had a lot of very bad songs), but in general... it's bad.

The worst part is that it's been stuck in my head since I happened to hear it again yesterday. I hate it when that happens.

It's only inappropriate if you consider drinking to excess and serious makeout sessions with guys you don't know to be inappropriate. If you do then, well, you really oughta come out of your shell a bit, you know? I'll agree it's not a GOOD song, and the video is just plain dumb, but inappropriate? If THAT'S inappropriate, then boy oh boy, you ain't seen nothing yet.

I LOVE that song it`s fun to listen to! I just HATE the saxophone part! It`s annoying! But let me tell u that I would never do any of the stuff she talks about in the song, so I can`t relate to the lyrics and probably never will, but I think it`s a fun song!

Katy Perry is CUTE!

It bummed me out when Sesame Street tossed her video with Elmo.

At least they allowed this :) which is sort of similar:

Anyways, however much I don't want to like it, Last Friday Night is catchy.
