The Pond:

I went fishing today,

With Grandpa Frank and my teddy bear,

At the pond in the park,

I wanted to catch a shark.

My Grandpa pats my head,

and says Dont get ahead of yourself,

But I dont listen and play by the water,

I fall in but no one hears me.

I see the bright fishes and frogs,

A crawfish scampers from my touch,

I try to laugh but I cant,

Oh grandpa why can't I laugh?

The Pond holds many things,

Fish and Frogs and Crawfish,

And until you notice me missing,

The Pond holds me.

Promises to Lies:

When promises turn to lies,

Is when we relise,

That everything dies,

When promises turn to lies.

When the lonely child cries,

Because it's parents are gone,

the family destroyed'

By the colours of hope and despair.

It's like a parent hits a kid,

Not listining to their sons crie,

Until he takes the knife,

And decides to take his life.

Almost like you try to run,

From all of the many things,

That makes your wonderful dreams,

Turn into horrible nightmares.

And when you see the light,

And slowly awaken,

From the monsters of the night,

You discover a true meaning to life.

Well, I am not much of a literary person but it does seem like a very poetic form of prose; am I correct?

It's called Free Verse poetry, which has since become very popular with poets since Ezra Pound began writing his own poetry in this form. Back in college, when I took part in creative writing and poetry workshops, most of us used free verse.
By the way, I liked your stuff.

I'm not much of a poetry fan, but I really like this. :)
