Hi guys.
I am in the middle of writing my first book and i need some help from fellow aspies who have an interest in concorde, planes, trains and ships.
Does anyone know if, in the time period between 1990-1993, there was a major event in the uk, that involes one of the above transports.
I need an event, where my character can go and see this, i.e - seeing a concorde flihgt.
Does anyone know if there is any event, that from somewhere in the uk, my character can 'see'.
It needs to be something on the line of a special event, a ship famous ship coming in, a famous train, etc
Would really be grateful for some tips.
Thanks

From Wikipedia:

Between 1984 and 1991, British Airways flew a thrice-weekly Concorde service between London and Miami, stopping at Washington’s Dulles International Airport.[117][118] Until 2003, Air France and British Airways continued to operate the New York services daily. Concorde routinely flew to Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados, during the winter holiday season.[119] Air France also used Concorde on flights to Denpasar, Indonesia, from early 1988 into the 1990s, when the route to Denpasar was terminated and replaced by conventional services to Jakarta. The Jakarta route was considered for service by Concorde, but Jakarta's airport did not meet the requirements for the aircraft.

A quick look shows that, other than a British Airways plane being taken over In Iraq after the invasion of Kuwait, not much to work with as far as ships, planes or trains go. maybe 1991 or 1992 will have something better. Or if you could move your story up to 2000, you got the Concorde crash.

I love transports <3 I probably don't have much knowledge to contribute, though.

Heh. Just slightly too late for Lockerbie ( 88 ) and the Herald of Free Enterprise ( 87 ). ^^

You could look into the movements of the Royal Yacht - Lizzy and co. will probably have been doing something noteworthy on board at some point during that timescale.

Your character can go visit the Cutty Sark, or the HMS Victory, or some such famous ship thats always on display.

Or maybe he's hiking in some remote area and catches a glimpse of some secret military aircraft.
