What genre do you like to read?

I've always liked fantasy. I've tried to read sci fi, but I just never got into it the same way I did with fantasy. No matter what I read, there's never the same satisfying sensation of escapism if it isn't fantasy. I can just wrap it around me, and feel like I'm next to a fire place.

That's also why I came to love Stephen King. He's a great mix of real world and paranormal elements. What about you, oh person who comes upon this?

Adventure

Fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, non-fiction, and lots of things on astrology and tarot.

Also, religious books.

Um... I wouldn't say I like fantasy as a genre, but some novels from the genre are interesting to me.

I don't like horror or crime fiction.

I couldn't say which genre I like. I think science fiction is very interesting and intriguing.

I think I am more author-oriented. I don't read particular genres. I like Orwell and I like Stephen Fry a lot. And Max Frisch. He's great.

Historical fiction is my favorite. Especially stories set in Victorian England.

sci-fi, specifically space opera and military science fiction. And if it is well written hard science fiction.

Mostly any fiction.

But I would pick fasntasy and sci-fi as my favorites. Ender's game is my favorite book

Horror and comic books are what I read the most. I also like to read fantasy, some sci-fi, and some non-fiction like psychology books or books about the future.

Sci-Fi like Philip K. Dick.

I don't really have a specific taste, but I have to be pushed to read fiction. I'm currently reading Manufacturing Consent by Ed Herman and Noam Chomsky, and Unnovations by Charlie Brooker which is hilarious, but only reprinted recently. I have a copy of 100 Years of Solitude which was given to me by a girl I was dating a few months back, she thought I'd love it.

Sociology and history of whatever topic has struck my fancy at the moment.

As far as fiction goes, I'm partial to young-adult dystopian fiction so I very much enjoyed the Hunger Games. I also enjoy adult dystopian, but I particularly enjoy the YA fare in that genre I also enjoy sci-fi - mostly Isaac Asimov since he actually tried to make the science make sense and I adore his mystery stories as well as his robot stories. I have a very nice collection of his books which I re-read periodically.

Fantasy is by far the most dominant genre in my favorite stories... But I also like drama, romance, horror, crime stories... The only genre I know I dislike is actually sci-fi... Have no idea why though but they can't seem to catch my attention as well as fantasy... But I actually say that if the story is well-written and the characters are lovable I read almost anything... And I give every story I come across a fair chance...
