So I am having an issue with a few people on an art site
yea I am having an issue with a few people on furaffinity, and I wonder if it is due to my aspergers / autism
like one artist is well known, so I messaged him back in January for a commission, his turnaround time is good from what people been telling me but I am having a feeling that he is lying to me and doing other peoples commissions.
I would post him on Artists beware lj group but with the power of suggestion, people will defend him saying I am causing drama or slandering him,
It is the same with a few other artists, they say they are open, but when i pm them, they ignore me.
1 guy I want to commission blocked me, and another guy is always rude to me.
What am I doing wrong?
No enough specifics to form an opinion on this case. That being said, you mentioned he is popular and so he may have many commisions going already. My daughter is a very talented artist herself and is often overwhelmed by people with requests. Third is the old saying "You can't rush art." And perhaps being patient and requesting a spot on a waiting list would be a diplomatic course to take. Just a thought.. Good Luck!

He very well may be doing other commissions before yours. Working artists who take commissions may have a waiting list of commissions they have accepted, and they usually do them in the order they received them, unless the client makes a different arrangement with the artist, like paying more for a rush job to be done by a certain date. What probably is going on, is that he is working on the commissions that he took in ahead of yours. You did say he is popular, so there could be quite a few, so you will have to be patient. I suggest you email him every two weeks asking for an update, but don't be nasty about it, or he may reject your commission.
Question: Did you pay all the money up front? If so, that was a big mistake. Never pay the whole bill up front for work that hasn't been done yet. In the case of art, pay half up front and half when the job is done. With contractors--like for work on your home or biz, break it down into more payments. Say, 10 or 20 % up front and another 10 or 20 % when that amount of work is done and again after each 10 or 20 % is done. This reduces the chance that the contractor will take the money and run, leaving the work still needing to be done, but no money left to do it.

I would shop around. Why would you want to buy art, presumably some fantasy image of yourself, from someone with whom you've entered into an adversarial relationship?

I'm on that site too, and peeps there are just nuts. Not the funny sort of nuts just....nuts. If you haven't paid anyone for a undone commission then just move on.

As an ex-artist I can just say that some commissions are more inspiring to do than others. Some people have not got a clue on how to approach an artist. One clueless couple wanted to order a painting that suited their sofa which, by the way was scary pink! I can't think of anything less inspiring then to have a sofa as a base for an artwork, especially when it come to realistic/naturalistic paintings which I do. I told them in a nice way to sod off!
The point being that you might have given the artist a commision he did not want to take and you did not understand the artist declining your commission.
didn't pay yet, but still if I don't get anything from him by labor day I will report him to artists beware, since well he said he put me on the list , and I asked around and apparently his turnaround time is 3 days to a week, but from january to now surely I would get something.
