Got the piano I always wanted!

I've been needing a MIDI controller of some kind for a long time now, and I sold my Roland SC-88 sound module years ago to support my family in a rough spot.

I just snagged a Roland synthesizer keyboard with 1500+ fantastic sounds for only ~10% of its original cost. :P Finally... I have all the tools I need and NO EXUSES! Time to get back to composing!

Wish me luck and a kick in the pants!

(Best of all, my best music inspiration came to me while on long walks which will also help rebuild some endurance!)

Congratulations! I have a Korg SV-1 88 m'self. Right now I use it principally as a controller for Cubase. In a live situation I'll drag it out. I'm older so I tend to like the "natural" sounding keys like Rhodes, Wurlitzer, etc.

I didn't know you were a composer. What type of music do you write?

Big orchestral "John Williams" stuff... there's some examples floating around out there. ;)

For me, I'd be better with light up keys due to me being a visual learner. :lol:

pity it was owned by a smoker... ugh... I wish they knew how bad it smelled and how much it lingers on everything it touches!

Good equipment makes all the difference. I have an inexpensive Yamaha keyboard I write on, and sometimes I can write something and it sounds like crap but then I sneak off to play it on the real pianos at the music school at my college and get totally shocked that I could write something so beautiful.
