I am making this post as more of a personal contract for me to embark on writing a nonfiction book. I feel it is time to write this story. I have not begun it earlier for concerns I have had about its content, but I feel it should be told. Others, with similar topics/content, have written their stories. Now I feel I must write mine. And it is true.

The subject of this work is not a living person. It is a house---my house---a house I have lived in since 1989. Perhaps what this house has provided me is a great gift---a gift of a true story that continues to add new chapters as time progresses. Now, through my journal entries over the years, I must write them in the format of a narrative.

I plan on beginning the writing tonight. I must keep motivated.

well, you have good start at an interesting slant, telling the story from the viewpoint of the house. all the best luck in your writing.

Thank you Cathylynn. I appreciate your interest. Actually, although the house will be the central focus of this story, I will write it from the first person point of view from "me." But the house will be the main topic.

I have a name for my book and have designed the cover. I have outlined the book and am ready to begin drafting it. This will be the true story of a haunted house. Due to the personal nature of this book, I am finding it challenging to write.

So your house is really 'haunted' (or seems to be haunted)?

This project reminds of my own pipe dream of somehow someday researching ,uncovering, and writing a short feature article about the biography of my car.

I suspect that my car must have had a colorful past before I bought it.

Its a 2003 minivan that I bought from a greek mechanic friend of a sleazy greek handyman who used to work on my mom's house ( not to disparage greeks in general-just this one guy).

The greek mechanic mentioned that he bought it from a police auction before fixing it up (turned out to not be totally fixed but thats another story).

But anyway- it basicly ran nice but it had a huge number of miles on it- way more than most cars its age.

After I bought it I looked it up in carfax. Carfax doesnt give names of previous owners. But the car did have an odd history of usage. Years of racking up many miles. Then a whole of year of almost no mileage change at all (i guess that was when the police had it impounded).

Im sure my car mustve been used in a drug running operation- maybe up the eastern seaboard from Florida. Or smuggling drugs from Mexico. Or some such enterprise.

Hi Naturalplastic, your idea about your car sounds most interesting. I like it. As for the house, it is really haunted, and I have nearly 25 years of documentation on it. Like the Whaley House in California, this is genuine.

I haven't been feeling the best lately (sore throat, achy, etc.) so I haven't made a lot of progress on my book. But, I have designed the cover---utilizing a photograph of the house over the title. I am really pleased how the cover turned out.

Since this book is a true account, it should write itself since it uses true events that have been catalogued in journal like entries that I have maintained through the years.

I am using this thread as a way to keep track of my progress and make sure I am making progress.
