Now that Sky.fm has a Russian pop station, I've been opened to a bit more Russian pop than before. I've made threads before and as far as I know, nobody on here is a fan of Russian pop, but I figure I'll try again.

That song is currently my "repeat 10x in a row" song.

I listen to t.A.T.u. still, and Serebro as well, but I don't know anything more current than them.

I have enjoyed Eastern European pop of the past few years, so I'm open to someone sharing recommendations.

The classics are quite good.

I'll assume the modern Russian stuff is to the 80s what modern RnB is to anglophone classics of past decades, so I don't grieve much about not exploring the current artists.

Wow, I love the second video. So pretty, her and everything in the video. Nice song, too.

For classic Russian pop, honestly the only person I really know that's classic (well that Ruki Vverh song is from 1998) is Angelika Varum. I've downloaded like 5 Angelika Varum albums.

That song is pretty famous. That song was actually like my "intro" to Russian pop. This Russian guy at my rink played it and I asked him for the song title after. Bunch of Russians at my rink, and they occasionally play Russian music.

This song seems a bit more in the classic style.

Awesome!
I hardly know anything about Russian music but the ones I'm into are t.A.T.u., T.E.M.A., and I like a little bit of Barbariki (it's funny)
Ruki Vverkh is pretty good too.

I find it odd how Russian songs can have videos with quite a lot of exposed skin, but then the songs themselves are actually relatively tame sorta "normal" love songs lyricwise. This especially applies to the Serebro song. I dunno, maybe I'm just being grass is greener on the other side, but even with Russian almost-nudity going on in the videos, they sorta feel a bit less 7th grade teenagerlike compared to, say, Rihanna's "S&M." Also those Russian girls are easier on the eyes compared to basically any American pop star.

Probably a bit NSFW/pornylike, those videos.

Also old Ruki Vverh song.

My favourite Russian pop singer is Peter Nalitch, who went on to represent Russia at Eurovision in 2010.

I love listening to him :)
