Whatever happened to you, Father Time?
You used to let me stop to smell a rose.
But now I feel that waste would be a crime
Since time so quickly nowadays erodes
Have I done something to make you displeased?
You once gave eternity in a day
But now it seems the moment that it's seized
It's but a second till it wastes away
I know not what I've done to lose favor
Why you no longer feel it's right to give
The gift for me to enjoy and savor
This brief lifetime I am allowed to live
I only ask the next time you're in town
to visit me and let the time slow down.
