knowing the truth will set you free
but you were never honest, at least not with me
instead you played games as an immature child
never knowing you lacked the skill and the guile
for the schemes that you tried time again and again
if what I know now I only knew then
perhaps things would be different - but more likely not
the wiser man would have left when all trust was shot
my heart led my head, now my head trusts my heart -
that things should have been over right from the start

you can't always cut your losses and run when things turn "untrue", you stay and fight for change, in you and others. Till you collapse!

If I had wanted relationship advice, I would have posted in that forum. Given you know nothing of the situation, I appreciate your intention but politely ask that what you say have to be in regards to the writing - your opinion on whether I should have stayed is irrelevant, and moreso inaccurate in that situation.
