I've wanted one of these for years, finally got the money to burn so I sacked up and did it. I have so many ideas and I never had the tools to put em all together...

Well I do now and sh*t is about to go down.

Right, and when you have learned to use your new toy and produced some work out of it - then it would be pleasant if you wish to share some of the results on the forum with us

I think figuring out how to do that will be as hard as figuring out how to use this thing

But yea I'll work it out, I'll share for sure.

What do you plan to do with that thing? And what can it do.

I make music on my laptop, but hardware is cool too.

It can record/combine 8 tracks, 1 or 2 at a time. Plus it has all kinds of nasty effects, it does loops, drum tracks, it has a bass converter (so I can lay down bass tracks with a normal guitar, which is awesome because currently I don't have a bass)... I've been out and about and haven't even messed with it yet, there's probably more, but that's the bulk of what I'm actually going to use.

I have a ton of music I've written that's really patchwork, I'm going to try to get it organized into some cohesive tracks. I play guitar and sing, and I'm trying to get my hands on a keyboard (my sister has one that she doesn't use, she said she'll give me if she can find it). I don't know how to play a keyboard per se, but I understand the keys and notes and how all that works so it could be useful.

First order of business, after I figure out the basics, will be to get a hold of my buddy who's a real good lead guitarist and just do some wild jams. I've been playing sporadically with this dude for 10 years and I've always wanted to know what it sounds like from an outside point of view. Once I get the function of the thing down with just a couple tracks at a time like that, I can get into the more complicated and structured stuff.

We'll see how it goes.

So far so good.

I've figured out how to do simultaneous guitar/vocal tracks and have done a couple screw-around acoustic covers (they were pretty bad), and laid down the instrumental part of a not-quite-finished original (that was my trial run)--I can now do these with out consulting the manual.

One of my songs felt really awkward singing and I couldn't figure out what the deal with me was, I realized after the fact that the guitar had gone out of tune (I play with a capo a lot so it will do that) but I hadn't noticed it because it coincidentally had gone off across the board by EXACTLY a half step  Obviously I am lacking in the synesthesia.

This sh*t is so much fun it's unreal, and I haven't even messed with overdubs or the effects/drum tracks yet... I'm getting my electric back from the shop in a couple days and when that happens I'm going to start getting wild..

I don't want to talk about that, it's depressing

It cost me one paycheck (2 weeks) pretty much on the nose
