lol no but I guess I might not be the average bear when it comes to my issues in addition to autism. The concept now is nuts to even try, I don't have much money or a car so what good is sitting in a bar? Bar isn't a great place to meet girls anyways I've always been told.

When I was 21, I tried meeting girls in bars. All the girls I met were alcoholics. Absolutely no relationship material to be found anywhere. I had a lot more luck meeting women at Society for Creative Anachronism events.

I thought I was going to get laid THAT NIGHT! I was 21 at the time.

There was this really pretty, young, blonde college girl going around kissing guys. I took a fancy to her, and started talking to her. She took a fancy to me, too.

We left the bar to go to her place in New Jersey (I live in NYC). Somebody else was driving (I didn't have a license at the time). We were sort of "necking" in the car.

All of a sudden, she sobered up, and changed her mind----right in the middle of Jersey! She started becoming cold to me. Luckily, the guy driving was able to drop me off at a PATH station, so I could get back to NYC. Otherwise, I would have been stuck in the middle of Jersey with no transportation at 2 in the Morning! With Blue Balls!

You take chances when you try to pick up girls in bars--many chances!

If you're the adventurous type, go for it; otherwise, try joining clubs and going to lectures or Star Trek conventions or whatever.

I'm the adventurous type lol. I also have slightly different beauty standards and live in a semi-rural area. I think I'll take my chances and if it doesn't work out, I'll try something else.

Not all bars are made equal, and not all bars are trying to be the same thing.
It'll be easier to get a one-night stand out of it than any meaningful relationship so ask yourself what you're doing:
-Do you want to meet someone you met online/are still getting to know them better? Dive bars are low-key, chill and hopefully not too expensive (especially compared to pricier wine bars).
-Are you just looking enjoy a few drinks, and maybe hang with friends? Breweries or hookah bars are more appropriate. Alternately bar/arcade types (Barcade in Brooklyn is a notable example), though remember you're there to hang out with friends and not to geek out over your ability to kill in Mario Kart.
-Do you want to hate yourself, and humankind? Try any Sports Bar or establishment with a high Chad Quotient. Ditto any bars that are super-crowded on weekends.

The rest really depends on how social you are anyway. Bar trivia may be an option for making friends, but remember not to be a creeper, yo.

I know someone that is in their 30's who has mild Asperger Syndrome and ADHD, and he became an alcoholic while trying to flirt with girls at the bar. Unfortunately, he told me one woman got extremely sensitive and hit him with her purse, unknowing that he crossed boundaries with her.
