I would suspect the truth in this is far more complicated than it would be a man. From my experiences, and the way things have been explained to me over the years, women's sexual attraction is a more complex issue than a man's typically is. In that, for most men, a woman's personality and overall way of being is completely separate from her sexual attractiveness. Whereas women, it's sort of all the same thing. They're inter-related and cannot be made separate.
So with that, a woman would check out a guy with a six pack but not really be sexually attracted to him in the sense she'd actually have sex with the guy. It's admiration. I believe women can look at a guy in a 'piece of meat' sort of way, but that doesn't mean she'd act on it, because, as some women said here, the associate that look with a sh***y personality, thus ruining the entire thing. My ex wife tried explaining this to me about myself and I didn't totally ever get it. A woman actually can be sexually attracted to non-physical things. Which is why they can get turned on by certain sheets, or scents, or lighting or music. They're way more complex sexual creatures than us men.
I think this is very true and one of the reason why people on WP often talk at cross purposes on topics like this one.

Better have the muscles on your side than against you.
This is only true once you have been in a relationship with that guy for a while, thoroughly trust him and know you want to spend the rest of your life with him.
Dating someone muscular you barely know doesn't feel saver than dating someone less muscular - the actual risk won't be much higher because a guy of average built is also stronger than almost all women and because most guys won't be violent towards their date anyway.
Breaking up with someone muscular also feels less save than breaking up with a less muscular guy, if they have a bad temper. Even if you couldn't defend yourself against a less strong guy, who tends to be violent, people around would be more likely to help you. Again, most breakups are not dangerous but when you start dating someone you can not know whether he gets violent when he's angry.
It's not a huge risk unless you choose your dates very unwisely but depending on where and how you live being attacked by a stranger and needing a strong boyfriend for protection also is nothing that is bound to happen.
