I feel like I am missing life entirely. I am 27 (I turn 28 next month) years old. I have a job that I love, but as far as other things like relationships I feel like I am left behind. All my friends from high school and college are mostly all married and are successful. I also do not drive, but I am trying to learn, but I am scared. I know I have to learn because there is no public transit system where I live. I have never had a girlfriend because of my extreme shyness. I do not know what to do. What should I do?

I'm in a similar situation, except I know how to drive. It was scary at first, but I think if you get your license it will help because then you can get out more. If there's no public transportation where you live, you must live some where really boring. I got my drivers license three years ago so I could start doing grown up stuff like go to college and stuff. I still haven't finished college or found a steady job, so at least you have that going for you. I'm 28, and feel like a complete failure compared to people in my family who are younger. I feel like I'm stuck on a deserted island while everyone else is sailing onward. I don't have many friends to compare myself to, but I'm working on the friends thing. One step at a time I guess. I didn't get into a romantic relationship until I was 21. I ended up getting married to the person after 2 months. What a train wreck of my life that was. It's so easy to want to get married when it's so hard to get into relationships, but getting married is over rated anyway.
