Hi to you all.

So I have been dating this aspie guy for few months now, we've known each other for few years, and of course I've been reading these forums and articles about this subject. In my native language (finnish) almost all of the posts are mostly like "If you ever encounter a man with asperger, run and don't look back" or some s**t like that and many posts on the english pages are also about negative aspects of aspie/NT-relationships, which I totally understand, because many people only find these places when they need advice and there's some issues with them and their SO.

So I thought that maybe we all need some encouragement and need to be reminded, that it's not all bad and that's why I hope, that people would now tell things that are going well and make them happy in their relationships/marriages/online-relationships/fwb-arrangements or whatever you have going on in your life at this moment.

I'll start. I'm truly happy, that for the first time in his life, my boyfriend seems to be experiencing love, since he said he thought that he could never feel romantic love for anyone and that must have been a s****y thing to feel. I'm also really happy that he has realized that lately I've been quite tired, because I'm a single mom of 2,5yo girl, and he's really been stepping up and played with my daughter a lot, which is a thing I would never ask him to do, or even in any way expect to do. And it seems they both have really enjoyed it, so it gives me loads of hope regarding the future. And finally I sincerely think he is the sexiest man in the whole world, so there's that :D

What's goes well in your universe?

I get along with my wife sometimes; other times, I don't.

We have a good friendship.

My wife has figured out
that if she just waits
I'll come around
again and again and again.

For her
I push way past my limits
of social comfort
so she doesn't feel
like a widow
at family gatherings.

The cost for me is
hours of holing up afterwards,
but still she waits.

My girlfriend is pretty affectionate & really tries to make me feel loved, wanted & needed most of the time. The times we tend to have problems is usually because she's in a bad mood like stressed, frustrated, depressed, or anxious. Then she takes what I say the wrong way which is a way she would never take it when she's in a better mood; & then she pushes me away, complains about me to her family & gives me the impression that she'd be better off without a realtionship or not being in a realtionship with me. Most of her family think she'd be better off without a relationship with me & that I don't really love her because she mostly talks about me when she's complaining. She's like that with me about her family too thou, most of the time she's talking about them, she's complaining about them. That's just the way she is, she mostly talks about things when she wants to complain about them & don't feel like talking about the good. I'm kind of like that too so I can relate or I was like that when I was depressed.
