What school do you go to?

The place is called University of Wisconsin Parkside.

I believe the school started out with good intentions, but through lack of funding and poor perception in the state it's dwindled into a school of last resort for Wisconsin.

It has a couple of decent programs.

I'm going to it because it's close to home and cheap. Now that I think about it, I really should have have left the homestead and explored the world when I went to college. It would have done me good.

It's not terrible though, I have a couple of decent Math professors. And I just started taking Music Theory courses, you are supposed to be in the major... but no one there seems to care.

I think that this is all a subconscious
reaction, due to holding someone in
esteem. I've noticed it, as well.

Doesn't mean you can't capitalize on
it though, by talking to them outside of
the bounds of your tutoring. Then, if it's
more than I suspect, it should show elsewhere.

As to asking questions about personal stuff,
people just seem to do that. Like, a connection
comes into their head, and rather than filter it,
and try and determine if they should say it, they
blurt it out.

That's a good point, Canandale.

Here is my advice: Don't mix business and pleasure! Don't pursue anything with these girls or else you'll get your ass fired.

When a girl moves closer to you, it's not because she is interested in you. She just wants a better view of the material. Girls do that s**t all the time, or they get all flirty, but it's all for nothing...*sigh*

He's NOT going to get fired,
for asking someone on a date.
It's not like he's teaching a class
or anything. Yeah, he can't go the
sexual harrasment route, but I trust
him, from what I've seen, to not worry
about that.

That said, they're there for an ostensible
reason. If you feel like the conversation
outside of the material was positive, I see
no harm in asking if someone would like
to get together at another time. Not whatever
burden comes with an actual date - just a
situation that is less constrained.

Oh - and sometimes little schools have the
BEST teachers. They're less concerned about
the research quality of professors, and can
focus on the teaching style.

I immediately tried to start figuring out the emotion being conveyed by the eyes. A hell of a lot harder without the multiple guess portion. I like having the right answer in front of me, even if there are wrong answers with it. :?
(That's how I passed a physics final exam several years ago. A 25% chance of getting the right answer, improved with a little "strategy," is much better than a 0% chance. 8) )

Yeah, that really shouldn't be a concern. As long as it isn't worded in such a way that the person he is tutoring feels like they will not get the same amount of help if they decline, no harm no foul. I don't believe that would be an issue.

He's not giving a grade for anything, so he's not dangling a "reward" over the person's head if they say yes, or suggesting some sort of penalty if they say no.

Haha, I'm sorry; I was assuming that affengeil, who raised an eyebrow at me, would know what she meant and readily id one of those, or just call me a pig and tell me to piss off, or tell me she was amused, or ignore me, or whatever...? She's a graduate architecture student, and I assume she's had enough calculus to know what "integration by parts" means (but I may be in error). <raises eyebrow> is an abiguous jesture to me in a vaccum; I was just trying to understand, in a hopefully fun and unconvensional way. I assumed most others would just skip it; but my fellow creatures are often beyond my feeble predictions...

If it helps, the emotions I was trying for forceably convey (to what level of success, I do not know) are embedded in the filenames; just look at the properties if you really care, or if it helps alleviate your headache.

Good fortune,

It was merely a challenge that I couldn't resist. :P

NOW you tell me that the answer key was included with the exam... >_<

Guess it was my fault for not checking for it. :P

Hm, I'd have to say somewhere between

C) Image

and

E) Image

but leaning closer to

E) Image

Though that was before I quoted your post and saw the descriptions (since, it actually IS slightly amusing to me).

And no, no calculus here. The highest level of math I reached was high school algebra (if you don't count stats or logic in college--architects are the artists; it's the engineers who do all the work). But "integration of parts" seemed somehow apt during a discussion about, um, integrating the exposure of someone's "parts" into one's interpretation of her potential romantic interest. Or integrating the flirty parts into the tutory parts. Or integrating her parts into the whole that is "tutoring session," yadda yadda...

~integration of parts- am I the only one who might have noticed the double entendre? Or did I misinterpret? My Dad is part pun and ready to share them at any time, so I've been conditioned for them in conversation. (Ignore me while I'm doing this!! !)
