all i require is that they are a Christian (i dont have a choice in this, as being a christian i cannot date/marry an unbeliever)

And there you are. Let me guess - you don't consider all those who claim to
be Christian to be so? I mean, here in the US, something around 90% claim it,
however meagerly.

That's like me insisting on a wargamer (which I do). Doesn't the idea
of converting someone raise any level of excitement?

im not against the possability of converting someone then dating them.... but as even unbelievers blank me and ignore me at the moment, it would be pretty hard to do.

its nothing to do with my standards... even if i had NONE, they still all ignore me in a 'i want to date you' way... i have plenty of over 40 year olds who want to become my mum though....

here's my standards. 18-30. woman. that's all. from there, I go with what I get. and I did quite well first semester, I dated a 27 year old, female mormon, who was a freshman at my college.

i still believe its not about my standards... they havent even managed to get into play, people have to show an interest before you can eliminate them from a standards list....

True. For example, when I spent all my time in my
mother's basement, there was no chance of meeting
anyone. Now that I go out dancing, I receive regular
attention. Don't know what to do about it though.

What do you do, to make yourself more likely
to meet someone?

i know... i cant work it out either, im doing everything im supposed to, my standards are practically Nil... im out and about....

i believe the solution is in discovering why women like to blank and ignore me....

it cant be looks = ugly men get women who like them

it cant be social skills = guys like me

it cant be some sort of horrible odour = i have high standards of personal Hygene

it cant be how a dress or talk = i have mother types and male friends who make sure my wardrobe is up to date, and i keep abreast of the lingo... i am just as fluent in modern street as i am in Middle English  (i like the transitional flow of language)

anyone got ideas?

I disagree. My standards prevented me just recently.
The fact that I'm pretty much unwilling to settle for
less than what I see as perfection is a serious hindrance.

i dont give a hoot to perfection....

its the quirks that make a person endearing and lovable....

remember what that Doc said in 'Good Will Hunting' about his dead wife?

And quirks are a part of the perfection that I seek.

Preferably a misanthrope, like myself.
Someone who takes pleasure in wars,
and could enjoy playing in my games.

Someone with a willingness to accept the
insanity that is the only real escape from
life.

Someone who can go from being an intelligent,
nay brilliant, discourser upon serious matters,
to being my little girl, who needs me to hold
her.

Someone willing to give my cockamamie ideas
of love a try.

Someone who can handle weapons with skill
and deadliness.

Ah...the list goes on and on.

Being someone who just exited said situation into a relationship, I can honestly say that nothing I did affected the situation very much.

It's something that just happens, almost regardless of what you do.

Obviously you can help yourself along a little by paying attention, but although some things I did might have made me slightly more appealing, none of it affected the amount of time I spent single.

I just mean that although I was able to change a few things to make myself a little more appealing, I couldn't control the amount of time I spent single.

I'm in no mood for emoticons today.
