To be chased is by far more powerful.

Boo, I couldn't find the quote you wrote here, but what you said here makes me think of the male population in a whole new light - and not a good one.

Why "the male population"?

Oh brother. I sure wouldn't be texting you (See previous post), or any of those other things either because I think you should be doing some of it so I guess we'd both end up staying in our own little corners alone. Too bad. :-P

He didn't say that he wouldn't be doing any effort, he said that the effort should be shared. Sometimes he starts texting you, some other times you do.

Honestly, I am no longer willing to comprise my pride for anyone whoever she is.

If let's say a girl I like reads my fb message (with a regular question ie how are youbeen) and never replies ==> I go to her page, unfriend, bye bye, I move on.

If let's say a girl I like never says hi to me unless I say hi first ==> forget, bye bye. Moving on.

If a girl I like only says hi when she runs into me face-to-face at some door or narrow passage but NEVER crosses a part of the room we both happen to be to say hi to me ==> forget, bye bye.

A girl who NEVER initiates texting/messages even if she replies every time, and even if I went few dates with her, or even if I got sick for few days ==> forget, bye bye.

In short, if one never initiates or at least partially chases me ==> bye bye.

As much as I was disturbed by hearing Boo's admission to enjoying the power of being the chased, I do have to agree with him on this one. When you are the only one sticking your neck out, texting, calling, and putting forth the effort, it royally sucks! One sided relationships are a drag! If you can't reciprocate in some way, I agree! Bye Bye!

This is not a gender thing even if "culturally" it is expected from man to be the chaser while the woman to be chasee.

But truth is, being the chaser always sucks, regardless of the gender.

and being the chasee, being the center of attention of someone, ...... feels nice, regardless of gender (and here I am excluding the sexual harassment cases, I am just talking about reasonable romantic/showing interest kind of chasing, not anything obscene).

So it's really all about chaser/chasee dynamics rather than male/female.

This applies even on homosexuals.

I think that this is more about personality traits even "orientation" than anything else.
To some people being chasee is a role which feels correct, whereas being chaser would feel wrong and even anxiety provoking.
To other people being chaser us a role which feels correct, where as being chasee would feel wrong and even anxiety provoking.
Other people might be comfortable with either role.
With this not being linked to gender or sexual orientation.
However most of us live in societies where it's commonly assumed that man=chaser and women=chasee. If that dosn't happen to hold for you then things will suck.

I'm procrastinating while having my first cup of the morning flavor. I re-read the post and you're right, he doesn't say that he wouldn't do anything. I take it back, Boo. I'd come out of my corner to say "Howdy".

The texting post still bothers me because I used to text my Aspie friend quite a bit and I hope he wasn't thinking that kind of stuff. I'm tired of all of the dating and texting rules. I just text or email when I feel like it regardless of whether the other person has answered or not. I figure if it is too much for them, then they can say something, right? I know I'm not really desperate because I've been by myself for quite a long time, but sometimes I'm just more talkative than others. This is where I clash with Aspies pretty much.

I think it's more about people not interested in talking with you than about them having Asperger's. Sorry if I'm blunt, that's just what I think.

You think? How come? I don't seem to have any problems with NT's. It seems that Aspies talk a lot in the beginning then it just peters out. Every single one of them. My NT friends I can talk to for hours. It could be a guy thing too. I know some guys don't talk a whole lot, but I had an NT guy friend and we talked for hours everyday. I really think it's an Aspie/NT thing.

No it applies to NTs too. This is about looking for someone to have a romantic relationship with.

If someone is ghosting you they are trying to put you off. It is a sign that they are not interested in going out with you.

Someone who wants to go out with you would text back and further the interest.

Boo gave examples I don't need to provide more.

I don't know then. In my experience everyone does it, it's not just an Asperger's thing. But I don't think I am fully NT.

Actually thinking back on it, I have never had a friendship with an Aspie woman - most have been pretty stand-offish. I've had 3 Aspie friendships with men away from the internet and I have talked to other Aspie men on these websites with some being for several weeks. Then all of a sudden they just say nothing. That's what baffles me. No clue that the "friendship" is coming to an end at all. Then I'm left wondering what I did wrong even though the last conversation we had was upbeat. I really don't get it. And I really have only the one NT guy friendship to measure it against and I guess we just clicked really well because I really don't think even most NT guys would want to talk as much as he did. I think I talk a lot in the beginning, but once I got to know someone maybe I would peter out too. Who knows. Idk.

Those who ghosted me were all NTs.

I found this quote-picture today on a dating app (on some lady's profile), and it's very relevant to here:

"Don't seek for someone you wish to be with hence he (gender-neutral in this case) will make you slave, but seek instead for someone who wants you so he'll make you king"

Queen you mean? And what does it mean?

Btw for all you feminists who don't believe that the chased is far more powerful just watch Road Runner cartoons if you don't believe me.

The context is gender neutral. In other term it is telling that it's better to go for someone who chases you, be the chasee and not the chaser, be the more powerful one.

If only it was that easy. Anytime I think someone is showing interest in me it turns out to either be trying to manipulate me or just being friendly.
