For me I put someone on the leaner side. What is the new "norm" is actually pretty large now. Also I live in a poor area so the women here tend to be on the large side. I'm my opinion, a spare tyre is fine but if you let your self go then the chances are you let yourself go in other areas of your life too. As a whole I noticed the more physically healthy someone is the better their income or educarion. Obviously it varies hugely on a case by case basis but I've noticed slimmer people overall take more pride in their jobs and education too.

Men are apparently overall more overweight than women overall but as anyone gets older it's usually a given they'll gain weight. At my age though keeping off the pounds is not that difficult and I have to questing why some people are the size they are in their 20s and early 30s. It's also proven that the more overweight the district the less well educated and poorer they usually are. At least in a lot of UK areas. I'm using very broad generalisations but I've noticed it over the years to be the case.

my wealthy bro in law's younger brother, @ 57 years of age, is at his high-school weight and shape. my ex is of her high school shape and weight. some people have good protective genes, is all. those people will live to their 90s with no health problems and can eat and drink what they wanna. these same genetic lotto winners will also be several standard deviations above average IQ and wealth. charmed lives they lead. lucky them.

I've seem a mix of body types when it comes to smart people. I've seen MASSIVE men and women with masters and above but I've hand on heart never in my life seen a toned slim woman without a good job and/or decent education or at least had one at an earlier point in their lives before moving on to a different chapter.

The stats in my area at least don't lie. Obesity, a lack of education and poor employment seem to all go hand in hand and it's usually mirrored around the western world. It's not that obese people can't be successful, I've seen plenty of those. It's just that my brain has been hard wired over the years to associate obesity with a poor lifestyle beyond just food and I don't find obese women attractive as a result.

There is a reason why hot women don't pursue careers as lab scientists or programmers

That's not the real reason.
Male scientists working with them would be too distracted and not achieve any scientific breakthroughs.

Ironically the university I went to was a STEM one and while outnumbered by men the women were very pretty.

I’ve seen some pretty attractive women who have fallen off the wagon many times.

I know one who looked like Winona Ryder who killed herself.

Life is obscene.
Being attractive doesn't change the fact that this life system is an abomination. 8)

"Nature" is where animals die a miserable death. 8)
