I'm concerned about hurting her. Just because I can't go through with this relationship doesn't mean I'm entirely heartless. She hasn't done anything wrong here. Hurting her any more than I have to would be useless.

I'm going to break up with her. I just need to get my mind settled on it. Calm down.

Either break up with her or learn to love her but please don't keep telling us about it.

1.You're the one that returns to this topic. No gun to your head.
2.I broke up with her.

Couldn't tell you. I'm just going to pretend that this problem doesn't exist. She's out of my life. I didn't have the courage to tell her, but this works well.

You broke up with her
without letting her know?

Hmm...well, I guess it's better
than nothing. But, it leaves things
in a bit of doubt, no?

The mind does crazy things when there is something unknown.

Oh well, given your personality... this is better than nothing.

The problem is that she probably thinks there is something wrong with herself... something she could have done to change this outcome. Explaining what's going on, while hurtful... helps remove this self-doubt.

You don't need to explain anything. You can just say, "this isn't working for me" or "I don't feel this is right for me".

Just ignoring her until she goes away, however, is cowardly and unfair. You owe her the kindness of a clean break.

Done. I told her it was for her own good, which is true. That's not going to cause this to go away, but now my conscience is clear(er).

subatai_baadur you have my respect. It probably was the best thing, even though there could still be hurt it would be less in the long term one would think.

About the worse thing you could do in my opinion is to try to make someone not like you by deliberately playing games. Although it might work on its own, even possibly over half the time it would be pretty rubbish/confusing for them especially if they are AS.

It doesn't minimise the fallout and it is cowardly, unlike what you did.
