The thread would be more interesting and more parallel to its counterpart if it was "What type of man do you want?"

but that would be boring as it would be five pages of women saying "I want the face of boo, he is my type of man!"

I want a man who is a face in a jar
Who is learning to swim and how to drive a car
I can think of no one else I'd rather do
Than the middle eastern chap they call the face of booooo

Is that meant to be a rap? :)

Rap... poem... thing.

Actually, it does scan quite well as a rap.

Yeah, I get the idea.

Another way I'll never fit in. Cavemen rule. :(

If one girl's opinion counts for anything, I prefer gentle as I have really sensitive skin and I am small and petite and I break easily... so dont worry, there are girls out there who like all sorts of men. :)

Maybe, but you only have to read what's being said about safe words to see what I'm getting at.

I can be rough if it's wanted, but it goes against all my instincts. Then I get girls complaining I'm not "macho" or "alpha" enough.

These are the ones who've seen through the one about wanting a guy who's taller than they are, presumably so they can be physically dominated.

Not being the dominating type doesn't get you very far. It's all about who can wield the biggest stick, not what they can do with things besides the stick!

Sure, there are exceptions, but I'm betting you are in California or New Zealand or somewhere!

For me, I like a guy with a bit of upper body strength. But I dont really like actual roughness. There are degrees of being roughed up, maybe a little is good, but I dont like too much of it as I am a small person and it makes me uncomfortable.

I think "ambitious" is code for "financially secure", some people are shy about saying it directly...

When I say "ambitious", I mean "ambitious". If I meant "financially secure", I'd say "financially secure". Maybe it's just me that does that.

lol Many don't. It's not because they're being intentionally misleading, as far as I can tell. They just have a different perspective of what some words mean and expect the man to 'get it'.

I do that. I'm also annoyed by the hijacking of the word "successful". It means "has a lot of money" after decryption, but I consider success to be untied to wealth.

Success doesn't inherently mean wealthy, but you're right. A lot of people seem to think it does.

If his 'ambitions' and 'success' lead to no add-value and no-results then what they're good for?

That's about the extent of my knowledge. I've been unable to figure out why so many women are inflexible and indirect beyond this. It may have something to do with tact, but I'm unsure.

Personally, I find it annoying.

Ambition and success aren't just measured by career and monetary wealth. I consider my husband ambitious and successful, but we are by no means wealthy.

He is one of the big wigs in the company he works for, though.

psht, you're mistaken if you think the majority of women would pass up on a guy just because he wasn't tall enough.
maybe you're only looking for a certain type of high-maintenance woman?

When I was younger I was passed up on a couple of times for being either too tall (I'm 6ft1) or - on one occasion - not being tall enough (she was 5ft8 and wanted to wear heels ... wtf?!).

6"1 is a goood height.
i'm only 5"6 :3

5'3" here. From your comment, I thought you were going claim you were 5'7" or 5'10. Those are usually complaints heard from guys at that altitude. My husband is 6'3" and I don't take 'em taller than that or shorter than 6'. Well, I did go through a "short phase" where I dated shorter guys for the sexual experiences but that's a story for a different forum section. Someone who is attracted to people of a specific height may not be high maintenance (I'm not) but they certainly are eliminating themselves as an option if you don't meet their preference. Either way, 6'1" is usually considered tall so unless you like the taller girls, you're not likely to run into this problem again.
