I now will try to be alone for awhile.
TigerFire, take this time as a pause for reflection. A couple of weeks, or a couple of months, or however long you need, to relax. To enjoy life, doing things for yourself, indulging yourself in things you enjoy. To take a step back. To see what a more relaxed attitude towards looking for a partner does. Maybe even during this more relaxed time you should have, someone will come along. As others on this forum have said, someone has come along when they least expect it or are least looking for it.
Not that I think you should commit to being alone, or anything like that. Especially as you have expressed a strong desire for a partner. Because if you enter and go through your 20's being pretty much alone, people are going to evaluate you, misjudge you, and get the wrong idea about you, if you know what I mean.
So, being alone is NOT worth the risk of the type of reactions you might get if you're chronically alone. That's a major reason why you really should be finding a partner or at least dating.
