That's why I wanted her to put some more words behind that viewpoint. But hale_bopp made a joke from it so I guess it ends with that.

Well, I don't really want a straight guy to, being gay myself.

On a more serious note, I wouldn't want someone who is too conservative--center is as far to the right on the spectrum as I'd want to go. I wouldn't want someone who is over-emotional, but that's because I can be inhumanly cold-hearted and logical sometimes. A fellow atheist would be nice, but not a necessity.

Oh, and I don't think I could stand to be with a guy who is a professor of Shakespeare.

Do you really want to understand my point of view? Well, I am "male" though I don't spend all my time abusing women and talking about cars and football. Maybe your wondering how I know what I know. Perhaps you're afraid that what I'm saying is actually true. But rather than doing anything about the problem, everyone just decides to deny that there is a problem. And so everything falls apart in a particularly terrible way, and people don't even notice. They're too busy counting their money to do anything about it.

Someone who is nasty, cruel, a bully, abusive, bigoted, or similar. I also wouldn't want to be with a weak willed person.

Theres a couple of guys I know who you would like. Really nice guys, but not weak.

I don't need a man who is even close to perfect, cause I like quirks. I can't abide a lack of honesty - without trust, it's all pillars of salt and pillars of sand.

It's impossible to find someone who's truthful 100 percent of the time, so I don't want a man who's gonna lie to me about the important things. I don't want a guy who pities himself all of the time, or a guy who has no ambition. I don't want a man who's ashamed of me or tries to keep me a secret, and I don't want a man who treats his family bad (as long as they have been good to him). There are a lot of things I don't want; the list goes on.

You young women these days are asking the wrong question.
You ask "What man lives up to my demands?"

Because we don't know what you demand.

You say "I am strong. I am opinionated. I am my own person. I am thirty years old and have had dozens of lovers before you. I have a degree and a career and make good money. You can't tell me what to do because I demand my "rights".

Ok.

But what is a man looking for? He wants a wife in the traditional sense. He wants a woman to love him and be loyal to him. He wants a woman who will mother his children, cook his dinner, keep his house clean, and be a "helpmeet" to him.

That is what he hopes for from you. What do you hope for from him?

A "real man" will bust his guts working in a coal mine to keep his wife and family fed.
THAT is a "real man".

Well from my experience with women it seems to be a guy like me.
