That's not a scary thing, that's a great thing! Lol, I'm a few years younger than you and feel a bit more than a few years older than you.

You'll really feel old when a president that's in your age group is elected. I'm 48, Obama is 51. This is the first time since I have been grown, that we have had a president that wasn't at the age to be the dad of a friend of mine.

It gets worse. He's a few years younger than I am. Oh well, as an older friend used to say about getting old, consider the alternative. ;)

So I've been giving online dating another chance, and recently been on pof alot. I have been looking at womens' profiles and I see ages such as 23 24 25 26. I just looked at a 24 yr old and said wow that is old, but she is only one year older than me. It just feels odd that the girls in my pool of fish are that old. I also see descriptions on these girls' pages saying they are preschool teachers, or have this profession(not job but profession) or that, and I find it mind-blowing that girls MY age have professions. Really puts into perspective how much of a loser I am. I may be decent looking, funny, and a college graduate, but I can't hold a job and my driving is awful.

Anyone else understand what I'm talking about here lol?

I am 23 and female....I can't hold a job, and though I do know how to drive I'd be a road hazard because of my anxiety, and getting to easily overwhelmed with noise and stress and such which occurs in traffic. Not that I could afford to drive anyways. Hell I am not even a college graduate so yeah it seems most people around my age are doing quite a bit better than I am, but it could just be it appears that way also not that its always the case but its possible to be misleading on dating sites so that is another possibility.

some things about my driving that are bad are..i will not turn on red...i will wait for it to turn green lol. I will only turn if it's not busy. I also hate turning left. I also don;t like backing out of spaces. I also get nervous driving new places however my gps has severely reduce that anxiety. I sometimes get confuse on roundabouts and merging onto the freeway.

Main ting though is I get anxious about the people behind me. For example, wen I am sitting at a red light and not turning on it I will feel an immense pressure from the people behind me to turn..i will slowly inch forward acting like I will turn, and sometimes I even consider it even though the roads are busy lol.

Oh and lastly I constantly fear every bump in the road is me killing someone. I fear this more for the consequences for me than for others.

My birthday was August 30, too, only I turned 24.

It is mindblowing, wtfid. I know 18 year olds who have office jobs, but all I could swing, even with my high IQ, is being a bagger at a crappy grocery store.

Hey, my birthday is Aug 30, also! I turned 45, however.

I can't believe I'm almost 24 (December 16) and still a virgin and no meaningful relationships. I feel old, and my body reacts the same way.

Ugh at these topics that are just people circle jerking about their self-pity.

I mean, if you're a 30 year old virgin and are not suppressed by puritanical beliefs, then all you need to do is pay for an escort. Wear a condom and you won't get a disease. Save up a few hundred dollars and you can easily afford it. Spend an hour or two finding a reputable agency and give them a call. Set up an encounter. Bam, done. And trust me, speaking from experience, the longer you go through life without getting that monkey off your back, the worse off you'll be.

Or, if you REALLY don't want to pay for it or have ethical issues with escorts, then settle for having sex with an unattractive woman. It may not be what you dreamed about (your first time is likely going to be disappointing anyway) but at least you've satisfied your curiosity in regards to sex.

What I'm saying might seem unappealing, perhaps even offensive and disgusting to some, but really, ask yourself, "would I rather feel miserable for the foreseeable future about being a virgin, or stomach having easy (if not guaranteed) sex in a not-so-ideal situation?"

LOL @ paying hundreds of dollars for a hooker or an escort. In this economy, that just ain't gonna happen. Only rich people have that luxury.

LOL @ a 1-time escort being something only a rich person can afford. If you can afford a computer, a TV, an ipod, and whatever other basic luxuries you have in your life, you can set aside some money and eventually be able to afford an escort. If you can't, then what the hell are you doing with your life to be so broke that you're below the poverty line? Hell, I bet even a person on welfare could afford an escort if they budgeted their money properly.

Edit: Again, this advice is all based on what a self-loathing adult virgin should do if they're willing to do whatever it takes. I just don't understand how a person can consider having sex such a herculean task when it's really just a phone call away. Granted, it's far from the ideal of being in a loving relationship but for people having these kinds of difficulties it can be years before they get their lives sorted out to the point where they can have meaningful relationships with the opposite sex. The escort is just a way of satisfying your curiosity about the physical act of sex you've been missing out on all these years.

I'm 3 months older than you (January 1990) and this is weirding me out too. It seems like most people my age have nieces, nephews and careers now. Some people 4-5 years younger than me even have kids and stuff, sure they're teen moms or whatever but it's still kind of bizarre, it wasn't that long ago that it was normal to be 18 and have a baby. It make me feel bad that my 18 year old sister has a steady boyfriend and is starting to drive when I've basically done nothing with my life so far. I remember before she was freakin' born!

I think 23 seems kind of big because it's mid 20s, it's a full 5 years into adulthood and beyond typical college age. Why can't time just stop? 8O
